That looks viscous. But... that doesn't look like the Quake 3 Engine, is it BF1942?

The game is slow on foot (or kinda fast as an FK or T1), just like BF1942 soldiers, that's realistic. And in vehicles, the vehicles are realistic as well, the jeep going damned fast, and APCs treading slowly, and the Skynet giant upright tank going damn slow.

Yet even though the movement is realistic, the action time is heavily flawed: characters still moving for a moment after releasing the movement key, some vehicles turn slowly or not at all while moving.

The models are uninspired and bland, the maps are stale and not very expansive. Atmospherically, the game lacks what form of atmosphere was delivered in the future view of the movies.

The weapons seem absolutely fictional, even those that ARE real guns, and not only do they look like they were molded with clay, they are either 100% accurate (Any Plasma Gun or the scoped rifle under ANY situation) or 1% accurate (the T1's only cannon fires randomly in a WIDE area of its unique reticle). Hell, there aren't even any explosions, light-effects, explosions, no realistic gun activity, also, no explosions. Not even from a huge rocket.

But that's just the demo. Luckily, they have the FULL version for free download because it sucks so much... er, I mean, the FULL version with a two-hour trial time, which when ends, locks the game from play and offers you to pay fourty bucks to have the lock taken away and you get the full game right there.

Regardless, it still looks the same, mostly, everything is slightly smoother, but it still lacks any substantial explosions (the plasma guns now have bolts and the explosions that exist are little more than a glowing sphere of sorts). The guns now kind of work with the expanding reticle, so the accuracy is a pain in the ass for humans, unlike the super accurate, indestructable, overpowering Terminators.

As for overpowering terminators, if YOU have only one kill more than any of the Tech.com players, you get access to... Ahnuld. He's nigh-indestructable, i could get a 100/1 kill ratio with him on difficult mode. But with his badassness, his voice is monotinous...
Need ammo: (ahnuld voice)"I need ammo."
Need reinforcements: "I need ammo."
Pickup: "Ammo"
Health: "Ammo"
The only thing he says that isn't about ammo is his "Affirmatives" and "negatives". Humorous.

This is one of those hollywood idol milking products. There are better MODs than this BF1942 rip. If a game is based off a movie or a TV show, it WILL suck (nowadays with about a tenth of a percent at being successful). Unless the origins are Japan or Lucasarts. Really.

Funny, the coolest (and nicest-looking) part of the game is the website.

TYPING of LucasArts... if anything is going to overcome our latest fad of shooting (CoD), it might be the upcoming (Q4 2K4) Star Wars: Battlefront. This game looks, and from the play trailer, will play awsome...ly.

The coolest part of Battlefront: NO JEDI. At least not in the means that you are one. One of the press interviews with the leader of the project that all the "heroes" will be in the game...

Might wanna ctrl+c+p this next part into notepad or something.
"Tatooine is where all these incredible heroes come from. If you're playing as an Imperial, you'll be able to summon the powerful Darth Vader to help you out." Just imagine it. You're under heavy rebel assault. No matter how many stormtroopers you throw at the Rebel defences, you just can't gain a foothold. Then, the Imperial shuttle lands, and a solitary, caped figure steps from the ramp. Jim can't help but get animated at this point. "When Darth Vader enters the map, you can hear him before you see him. You totally get into it: 'Oh my god, it's Darth Vader!' because he can just deflect laser bolts away. When the guys tested the game, they ran into this one incident where Vader was hunting down a scout, and the scout was backing up against a tree. At this moment, the scout played his 'idle' animation, looking left or right, like he's trapped, before Vader sliced him in two with the lightsaber."
Whole interview here.

Battlefront will kick arse.

Also, I've more interest in the soon-to-come conversions for Cod than CoD itself.

Eastern Front - Putting a HUGE light on Russia and Germany's campaigns.

Axis of Evil - Giving the Germans a lotta backup with the Italian and Japanese armies.

S.W.A.T. - Looks nifty and modern, and the team works fast.
