America's Army
America's Army, does anyone have this? if so is it any good? I am trying to download it right now but it is going at a rate of 97 kbs! going to take me more than 2 hours to download. I don't know if it is just the site I chose to DL it or what.

Almost... four years old, I think, but the graphics have been gradually made better over time of its development. Damn, these army guys sure are diligent (it beats getting shot in the desert).
All soldiers get one gun, and its the same gun (M16/M4). Unless you're a sniper or support gunner of course. Though that acceptable weapon balance has been screwed ever since the Special Forces SOPMOD addition (I think the imbalance between new Special Forces guys and rank cheating SF guys has been remedied somewhat), as guys with all the best SOPMOD parts have a substantial advantage over others.
All missions are similar to... COD or SOF2's retreival/bomb gametypes, where one side moves to get to the number of objectives while the other stops them. Mission rounds are generally twenty minutes long (and every second is used), scorelimit is always seven rounds, and wait times if you do something foolish like die are extensive. This game is not for "Ramboes", at all (unless you're in a small area like a room, then you can run in circles like a douche), the very slow pace doesn't take kindly to evasive maneuvers while shooting.
Fortunately, the game utilizes squad tactics and teamwork.
Unfortunately, the game utilizes squad tactics and teamwork.
Unless all of your squadmates aren't noobies, teamkillers, Counter-Strikers, or unaware of what the hell they're doing, you're likely going to lose. Over. And. Over.
Oh, and have fun during training before you can even play online.
I still have a fully trained account (I hope, even though SF was easy enough for me, I don't wanna do it again), if only a bunch of us played this, I'd start playing it again. Just not fun without some allies to communicate and formulate tactics with.
One good thing: There are M203s. But none of those SOF wenches like it, as it cannot be fired within thirty meters (explosive doesn't prime until after two seconds, so point-blank or CQC panic button is nonexistant.)

I have DL'ed it but now when i run the damned game my internet connection (cable) it says there is no connection. I have to unplug my cable modem then plug it back in then turn my computer back on. I am about to uninstall it to see if that fixes the issue. it took me two damned hours to download so i am loathe to delete it. I am trying everything in my limited knowledge to remedy the situation before I remove the offending program.
I freakin give up! I am frustrated as hell. The America's army game will not work for some reason, i can do the beginners marsman training offline but when it asks me to go online to save the info, my computer doesn't allow it. it just loses connection for some reason with my cable modem.so after hours and hours of this crap I tried to re-insatll my SOF2 with no damned success.
