Not bad, DELL has some sweet laptops as well. You can even get a GeForce 6800 Go which totally kicks ass.

Dell laptops are sweet , so are alienwares. But both only offer the same settings as the one i found but dell's and alienwares are 2' and around +9 pounds. Thats the part that suxs, thats why i was wondering if any of you know of a place that sells Saus laptops, seems its only them that sell pretty nice laptops but i find it hard to find a place that sells them in the US :(

umm, Xor, he said thin and light, no such gaming laptop exists, a good gaming laptop runs about 7.5 LBs, 2.25 inch thick and 3400 U.S. dollars
dont quote me on the specs, but i figure im close

sorry G1, you aint gettin the best of both worlds here

better get a nice thick pad if your puttin it on your legs or you will fry the family jewels, dell does have the best performance, battery power and ventilated laptop around tho....

Wuss, grow some muscle and carry that ten pounder.

I've got a Dell Inspirion 5100 series with 1.6Ghz, 256RAM, and a Radeon 9000, at about eight pounds or so. I'm capable of running some games like Neverwinter Nights and Jedi Knight Academy. Though I haven't used the thing in such a long time for any gaming purposes.

that one isnt a bad little unit, however, check the gaming specs against something you need to have like performance as a desktop, you might find that although light and thin, may not be as good a gaming machine as they will lead you to believe, check the fps playing a high res game and then see if it stacks up, do some more homework, and im guessing price is no issue

well i checked both best buy , comUSA and dell. And their 'best' is all like 9 pounds and above Asus almost has the best of what i think i need and its both lightweight and thin. That second link shows that umm... I dont think you can do better than that but then i did see best buy have this lil nice Sony VAio that thing was ultra small and has same specs as the Asus one except for that it has ATI 9700 for a graphics card but that thing weighs 5 pounds and its 1.1' thick. Might get that if i can get a hold of that Asus laptop the sony one runs for 1600 Dlls. And well no price is not a factor as long as i get what i want. As just want the 'best ' I know you can really never stay ahead in the pc world but for once i would like a pc that is really nice and almost is to uptodate in hardware. :)

I have a laptop, got it though my college that I attended for a good price. An IBM T30, 1.6ghz, 768mb ram, and a 16mb ATI Radeon 6500 graphics card. The thing is still good except for the graphics card. Problem with that is alot of latops have integrated graphics cards which dates the very quickly. I know Alienware has one that has a non-integrated card. 1.5ghz and a gig of ram is good enough to play any game, and any game that will come out for the near future. Now granted mine is almost 4 years old and 128mb graphics cards wernt really avalable in latops for a college student price.

One other thing is cooling on latops is sub par. Im not so up to date on the latest tech, but the Centreno systems have a much higher efficency rate than P4 which is what mine has. Less heat, more battery life and less stress on your system. I would get an extended warenty for 2 or 3 years that covers all the hardware. A problem with my laptop is the graphics card and processor get so hot, not hot enough to over heat, but extreamly close, that eventually it burns the mother board out. Mine has a nice warenty on it and i just send it out and in a week i get it back rebuilt, free of charge. Make sure the warenty has accidental water damage, alot dont, and alot of stuff happens in college.

And one more thing, if you sleep on the top bunk, never fall asleep with your laptop, bad things happen when gravity gets a hold of it.
