pop the version we currently run is the last release before the you must pay for the use and the slots that are sued on your server. With 2.1.4 we can use the server and the clients for free. where the the 2.2.X and up versions mean you can have the client for free but the server is a charge fee for every connection to it.

Hope this helps man

well 2.2.x and up is free for 8 slots then you gotta pay for the software and licensing etc. Ran into that problem with some friends of mine when we played EQ and Mechwarrior 4.

its a bit harder than that i finally found the vent "free" license and stuff and u can use the 8 slots yadda yadda yadda but to get a license agreement whatever for the pro version u must have a minimum of 1000 slots aka a hosting company hosting many many vents
