Need some ideas....
Well nexy May, after taxes. I plan to build me another computer. Something that will run Cod2 at 1280x1024 smoothly. But i dont know if i want to go Intel or AMD. PLus i dont know where PCI-E or AGP. Kinda want AGP so i can play older games that support OpenGL. But gimme some suggestions. Because i am in a blur atm.
RE: Need some ideas....
Intel / AMD is just personal preference.
If I was building a new machine for COD2 and other new games I would definately go PCI-E, and depending on my budget i'd look into the SLI boards for the dbl video card configs.
AGP is slowly going to the way side, and building a new PC with AGP in my opinion is holding yourself back.

And just to let you know Geme, PCI-E has nothing to do with running OpenGL or older games. Just think of PCI-E as AGP 16x. It's all backwards compatable.
I agree PCI-E is the way to go.

Yes, PCI-X is the only choice you can make as the newer video cards aren't even coming with an AGP option, hence why I have to overhaul my system.
As far as AMD and Intel go, I used to say go AMD because you got the performance for a lower cost, but now with AMD flexing its muscle in the 64-bit arena, they are not being as competitive on price (or Intel has lowered theirs to be more competitive). I would honestly say to look for a good deal on motherboard and proc and let that drive you.
