Actually Pink, the correct way to do field recordings is to keep the level somewhat low around -6.0db (std) so there's plenty of headroom for processing. If the original level is too high, and if you add processing, you can have clipping problems. You can always add a volume envelope later to enchance the sound.

My favorite plug-in pack for processing is called Waves platinum 5 (want to sound like you're on a city street? club? new york studio? bathroom! not to mention reverbs, chorus, flanger, doppler etc.. ) which pretty much can master any sound or voice to be inside any "sound space". The only hitch is these are VST plugins, so you would need a host program like Cubase or Live. I use Live5.

I have other sound tools like synthesizers Reactor5 and Absynth3 etc... which would definately help you out in the sound department. I also have 300Gb of samples I've collected over the years. :D

Don't hesitate to ask if you're looking for a "particular sound" as I'm sure I can get it or make it.

Can't wait for the next episode man!

That was pretty cool. Badash told me to drop in and have a look. Gotta admit myself that you have some direction talent. What are you going to do with this new found power?

Actually, a buddy and I have always wanted to make movies together, so we've been becoming a bit more serious lately. We're nowhere near doing anything yet though.....

So, just The Movies movies for now.....

Where's Billy Everyteen?

Relentless Den Critique: No black & white or heavy contrast?

"Lowdown scumbag that had mugged that poor old lady and taken her wedding ring" didn't sound very Gumshoe.
Monologue lost its flow with over-information on a specific point.

Vic Pescusio doesn't have any cronies or bodyguards following him around? Guy must be bullheaded.

Rosette went from impersonal to informal pretty fast, also died real quick. What did she know of some detective she just met who seems to have a well lit and tidy office to peg him as helpless?

Related, is there any way to darken the scenery in The Movies? The bright walls made the conversation between Vic and the mayor look like a soap opera set.

1) You can do Black and White, and I did think about it but decided against it.

2) Yeah, I don't like the line about his previous job, but I was trying to convey that 1) he was down on his luck and his jobs, and 2) he liked vengance against those that deserved justice. Probably could have chose a better "case" and conveyed it better.

3) That wasn't Vic talking to the Mayor. That is a henchie. That's why he talks about his employer.

4) Nina died quick in order to draw Jack into a case he didn't want. Later chapters will reveal more about Nina and what really is going on. Also, Jack's office was dimly lit, except for one scene where I forgot to change the lighting and it was brighter than hell. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to really make a room look dishevled or anything. Such are the limitations of the game from time to time.

5) Yes, you can change the lighting, but only for a couple presets. As far as actually changing the color of the scenery, there are people out there modding the sets in 3dMAX to do things like that, but unfortunately, that's probably beyond me.

Thanks for the feedback!

LMFAO I love the Scottish accent. OMG I roflmao for so long. Great story line though. Very traditional. I like the "so he persuaded him" line.
Also I couldn't quit laughing at the guy who sounded possesed; "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!"
Great scripting "So I had an equally bad idea. Talk to the mayor's wife. Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn."
There was a problem where the guy was arguing with satan (the guy with the hair and glasses) and you could hear the grunts of anger. I know that's a bitch to remove unless you switch off mumbling.
I know for a fact that it's really hard to get the scenes to gel, but yours work great, running from one to the other neatly. Keep 'em coming.

Aye Laddy!

Here comes my comic-guy impression: Worst. Accent. EVER!

LMAO! On a serious note, it kinda sucks that the characters can't act right during certain scenes. Like when Jack and Angus McBaldy are talking in the diner, the characters keep flailing around, making weird faces and such. But those are the pitfalls of this game. Nonetheless, I liked the second chapter.

Also, you have to have a gansgter guy that says 'Myah!' for the next chapters. It just wouldn't be right without it.
