cod 2 issue

Post by z3r07w0 »

when i try to play on a server i get booted for a restriction stating that pnkbstrB.exe failed. So i followed intructions to fix this issue i.e. removed my pb folder and run the pbsetup.exe and pbsvc.exe. when i run the pbsvc program i get an error saying (verifying service authenticity ERROR) I also noticed that my CoD2MP_s.exe file isn't 1.88mb like usual. now its 1.89mb and when i get others to send me there exe file it bumps itself up to 1.89.
Any ideas?

I also shut off the windows firewall but that didn't help either.

go into your service, control panel>administrator settings>services

locate pnkbstrA and pnkbstrB and make they are running and also make sure they are set for automatic start up.

I agree.

As far as the size of your executable, I looked at mine and it's 1.88 - and short of something recompiling your .exe, I'm not sure what caused a jump in file size. I would raise an eyebrow too.

Ive done your suggestion mid, thx but it didnt work. I think i have a nasty virus. I've reformatted a few times already but i always leave my second harddrive alone. I think that the virus is in the second drive. I'm going to have to reformat both now.

Doh! better change all your passwords on EVERYTHING. I would just write down a couple of strong ones to use from now on. Scrap the old ones.

Make sure your main password for email isn't compromised by changing that first.

You never know what has been done to your computer once something gets inside. Your computer has been acting as an IRC server more than likely with people all over the world having access to your computer. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck man.
