Online Fax Services

Post by Dexie »

I know - faxing - what up with that?

But I'm applying for a lot of jobs with the government and they require that you fax in supporting documents even though the rest of the application can be done online.

I was wondering if you guys had any info on fax through computer software. My primary concern is security, as I'll be sending personal information like discharge papers, college transcripts, etc.

I just canceled our "land line" (digital phone thru comcast) because we didn't use it. I'd like to not have to try to get phone service again if possible.

Any help would be much appreciated.

this is for home use. i work from home twice a week and i do most of my job hunting on those days or the weekends. i have been taking the docs that need to be faxed to work and sending them there, but i'd like to cut that step out of the process. i won't be able to depend on that access. our office is in process of "re-organizing" and i'm not expecting to be there much longer.

Worst case scenario, you could always go to a FedEx/Kinko's.

also noting to self: no more fedex/kinkos faxes. but a least they are cheaper than the local mom and pop shop. those guys charge $3 per page for long distance faxes. that really adds up when you're trying to send four 6-page faxes to indiana

$3 a page?!? Unless faxing is loads more expensive in the US what do they do? Personally guarantee it will be printed out on silk at the other end?

not really. they are just the only fax machine in the neighborhood so they are taking advantage. local faxes are only 50 cents. they just screw you on the long-distance
