Help!!!!

It's one of those annoying things but everytime I log onto COD4 my I am allowed to play about 10 seconds and my connection times out. Then I try to go back and I can't connect at all.

Does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this?

I have disabled the firewall, updated punkbuster and my Nvidia driver. No effect.

Suggestion would be appreciated.

Are you getting any error messages in the console? You can always check to see if you have any corrupted files. http://www.fpsadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13507

That sucks, is this all of a sudden? For the heck of it, try rebooting your cable modem/DSL/router.

Try creating a multiplayer game and see if it does the same thing.

I had the same thing and found a kinda odd solution.....plug in a mic, even if you don't use it. i found this topic in a forum and a lot of people have found this to work.

Thanks all. I tried winsockfix and it seemed to work. But I only tried it twice. I will let you know how it worked.

Seriously, I had some awesome white cheddar on crackers yesterday.

First of all. I'm sorry I couldn't play last night. It seemed like the perfect time to play with so many on. It would have been fun. I am nearing the completion of a renovation project in my lower level of the house. Now is crunch time becaue the tenants are moving in Sept. 7. After that I will have much more time on my hands as I descend into the life of a University Student!

Thowarr's ok. He leaves for Afghanistan on the 27th (Sept). He came on there to try to help me shoot zero a few times last night.

Arch: Eh, with the military you never know. He's going to be there for 6 months this time, unless they change their mind. I won't have to move while he's gone this time. I'm also closer to some kind of family. The holidays will suck though (Christmas, Anniversary).

I always have some freakish medical issue while he's gone. I wonder what it will be this time?
