Our server

Post by z3r07w0 »

Wondering if we will be able to move to BF BC2? If our server can't i will get one. Alot of ppl will be playing this game and if we had our own server i think it will put us on the map in FPS.

Can't happen.

Bad Company 2 does not have player hosted dedicated servers.
You have to rent from an EA-partnered host.

As sucky as what Den said it seem to be true, at least at this point. They will have dedicated servers but not public server binaries and no MOD tools. So they are just slightly better that IW. It is disappointing that they have taken this route.

We have that nice server in Chicago that doesn't seem like it will see any new games.

I have been looking at hosting providers for BF:BC2 and I would be interested in a guestimate of number off slots we should get if we got one. I was thinking between 24 - 32. Does anyone think that we should stay between 16 - 24?

I suggest 24. I found 32 to be too many. 16 wouldn't be enough. I will get one if nobody else does. I really think we could use it.

I agree 24 slots sounds good. I am fine either way, people that want to can Paypal me or you money if they want to. No pressure to do so from me though. I have been looking at getting a server from a couple companies and was leaning toward this this one.

But I am completely open for other suggestions. These guys seemed to have a good rate and a lot of datacenters to choose from. Let me know your thoughts.

*Grumble Grumble* UK release dates *Grumble Grumble*

I'd be happy to paypal a couple quid each month if we get the server busy, have been finding the game enjoyable enough, just need the release day patch to get things up to scratch.
Time stops for no-one. Why should I?

Wow only $29 bucks per month, this is good news I was worried it would be a lot more. I agree on the 24 slots as well.

Badash, don't buy MW2. It's dead and very frustrating when playing multiplayer since it runs off of IW.NET instead of dedicated servers. The more who play BFBC2 the better. I will gladly paypal for this server to you IDO. Please PM me info so we can get this started.

Just watched the video Den posted. Sold just pre-ordered off of steam will download and jump in ASAP.

Will be good to play with PHX again this looks like it could be a game to play for awhile.

I've been playing on consoles for a couple years straight now. How many guys do we have playing BFBC2 or plan to? I'm going to grab it off steam tonight if there are people playing.

I still need to go grab a new headset so I can talk in vent but I finally decided on the Tritton AX 720 I just need to actually get out of my chair and buy it now :)
