Competition or Fun?

Post by Archangelus »

In light of some of our recent matches, I want to know whom wants to compete to win and whom is competing for the fun of playing. There is no negative connotation one way or the other, but if we have individuals with different motivations, we need to figure that out now.

If you are Competition:

You must show up to practice on time
No goofing off during practice
Focus on strategy and communication, and share
You must be dependable for matches
You must provide your profile (times available) ASAP

If you are playing for fun:

You will still play in matches
You are still welcome at practice (must adhere to same rules during practice as competition players)

I am not trying to create division in our guild, but I want to make sure that we are all on the same page here and that we are playing as well as we can when we compete. If we don't have people that take the matches seriously, I question how we can even think of signing up for CAL.

So - everyone MUST respond to this thread within one week from now (by November 18th). I only want to see - Competition or Fun. Don't get "inspired" by this post and say that you want to be Competition, when you really just want to play for fun or cannot commit to the time. No one is being "kicked out" or shunned for not competing. Be honest!

Thanks!!

For now I have to say fun.

Being honest about my overall skill level, I cannot compete with alot of folks out there.

That doesn't mean I'm not drinking Milk.

When I can get my skills down better through practice, you better well believe I am competitive. I am extraordinarily competitive when I am in a serious match, because others are counting on me.(have played hockey for almost 20 years now).

Ive been getting alot of homework from work (how nice, eh?) so my game is a little off.

I agree with what Arch is sayin completely. We gotta be serious.

Well, for matches, im in for the competition. But when im in eof, i do so lousy sometimes that i dont care abot how good i should be doing. Now theres something i want to say. I definitly wanna go hardcore in the nest matches and try my hardest. But im not sure that im in this game 100 % anymore. The game has kinda lost its allure 2 me. Its getting boring pretty much. I still like 2 play in my spare time, but its just not as fun anymore. So i want to play as many matches as possible and do as best as i can before i fiannly reitre from playing SOF II. Well, l8r all.

If you are bored how will you get better? i wonder if Bret Farve says i wanna play in the super bowl but i dont want to practice or play during the season. I dont mean to be negative UD but if your gonna be in matches we need you at your best. Lord knows i still need alot of work myself.

of course EOF is for fun.
and yes, in matches victory is my goal. i dont even say curse words when in a match. how more serious can i get???
but EOF has made me lazy in the kill department. i try when i can but i usaully accept defeat and just screw around out of sheer boredom. maybe a new patch is necessary to rekindle my lost love for SOF2....

or maybe i should break my way into new servers for time-to-time respite....

either way, we should patition KNITEMARE to keep FF on at all times so all clans can shake the FF=ON cobbwebs out from between their ears...

Competetion!!!

I have to admit that I havent been playing as much lately though and that's affecting my game. I'll do my best to be on more in the future. I think I'm at a point where I get frustrated so quick whem I'm playing lousy, and i start wondering if it's me, or because I think that everyone else is hacking!! ARGH!!!! :bad-words: :bad-words: :bad-words:

On an even playing surface, we definately have one of the elite groups out there!!

It's you Waste... hehe joking bud!!

I joined for fun since it was a while ago I came on board. But now that it's league time, of course I'm willing to compete professionally. My skills are so lame lately, however.

School soaks up too much time.... :bad-words:
