Halo for the X-box is limited to 16 players is it the same for PC or do they have bigger boards to allow more. I almost picked it up today but I am waiting for reports like you gave to make a decision. If it allows more peps to play at a time thats a big plus for me.

Just a heads up for HALO for the PC ... Most of the reviews I've read say that although the game is great, she runs like a plump pig down a hill ...

One reviewer said : On a 3.0Ghz / Radeon9800 / 1GB RAM , even at 800x600 with detail set to medium, it chugged along in the upper teens in framerate.

Upper TEENS?? Holy Jumped up Cripes

I'm gonna have to try the demo first I think

To answer you question LT You can only have a max of 16 players in the PC game as well. I also noticed low Frame Rate, as well as pauses in the single player game to load the next sequence, which gets annoying. I think this game was a waste of my money....and dont suggest anyone to buy it. (Want to buy mine)

The xbox paused while loading the next sequences as well. I found the game to run ok. Wasn't sure of my framerate but I got virtually no lag on the 2 servers I was on earlier. Also, it was a waste of money so far. Can't get into it like I did on my former xbox (fiancee's brother has it for now).

On the plus, however, it seems like it could be a great competition/match/scrim game. Quality players will remain true to it while sourpuss' move on to CS and HL. With Ventrilo on the run, reegular gaming could be fun as well. Kinda like Planetside with a team reason to keep fighting. The lack of an xp system in Halo is kinda like PS's xp system: Pointless...

All in all, I'm not going to see the negetive 'till I give it more time. If someone hasn't finished the xbox version, it's a good game to pick up. Too bad for the 16 cap in multi tho. More players would be more fun!

Side note, I read on "halo.com whatever" that someday a co-op mod may be available. That would rock harder than Judas Priest pounding Twisted Sister!

i've never playd the xbox version... so this is my first with the game- rather unimpressed. usually single player is quick and interesting- this, unfortunately, is slightly slow and boring. fps are rather low for a game of this stature, and the story line draws out the same crap over and over- u use the same ugly weapons for the first three hours of playing it without barely getting a taste of taste of something unique- good old fasion machine gun, pistol, shotty, alien plasma type thing, rocketlauncher-- thats it for the first rather long while

Anyone play this one at all?

I'm quite hooked on it now. It's SoF2 action in a Planetside world. only drawback is that only 16 peeps max can be on at any time :(

The skill level of the players is fairly even. Noone pwns all the time. Makes it fair for everyone unlike SoF2 and such.

I play and I know that WildBill plays also. We have played together various times. The game is a lot better when you have someone you know playing.

yes orc i play and do like it except the ocassional spawn killing and the
fact you die a little to easy when somebody else has a vehicle. other than
that its a pretty cool game it would be cool to get a few of us phx'ers in
a server some time to really kick ass
