I believe bad parenting or even a lack of parenting at all is responsible for about 85% of how your child will turn out. The rest I agree is a lack of willpower and proper judgement. How many times have you seen someone hit a kid in a major department store infront of so many ppl. In fact I was taking the subway on the weekend and I saw two little boys fighting and their excuse for a father pulled them apart and hauled off and kicked the one boy infront of hundreds of ppl ( is that mental scarring that could lead to a bad road ?) most likely. I felt like giving the guy a taste of his own medicine, just waiting to see one more thing from him that disgusted me, but my gf and my better judgement told me not to get involved. Some ppl should not be allowed to have children. When your kids get old enough to form a mature opinion of their parents hopefully they will see all of the good their parents have done for them. If you want your kid to be a bad ass then beat them, ignore them, talk down to them. I also don't believe that bullshit that " if my dad beat me or my parents ignored me, I will be the same to my children" Anyone can stop the cycle and be their own person.
