Some of the that left Blizzard are creating a new sorta mmo called guild wars. Gamespy has posted an interesting article on the game and I think the game may be of interest to a few of us phx'ers. They are using a battle.net style setup where you pay for the game and pay no monthly fee, you just pay for expansions if you want.
Anyways they are having a downloadable demo during E3 where you can try the game out so I figured we should take advantage and check it out. it is going to have pvp missions and full ladder rankings so it could be pretty fun if it turns out to be any good.

I've been looking forward to Guild Wars since I saw it a few months ago from Penny Arcade. The biggest incentive is that it has no supscription-thing, so lack of funds is technically no option. The second biggest is that it is an entire change of pace from the more common MMO. The third is... uh, stuff.
If you like Diablo2 at all.. than this is YOUR GAME let me tell you.
This game is basically what Diablo 3 would have been if Blizzard didn't screw over their top developers and turn World of Warcraft into Everquest 3.
Not really my type of game, but I know it'll have an amazingly huge following.

The only time you're going to be able to give it a whirl is either at E3 or during E3.
Its just about the same as City of Heroes, except medieval.
