Expansions vs Fixing Bugs, Which is Better for UO?

On the UO U.Hall forum, Wilki (UO Online Community Rep) replied to a player's questions about improving UO.

Question: Just wondering if you actually keep updating this game for fun or if you do everything just for money as most people do these days... With all the players paying each day and all the copies being sold of UO each day... Wouldn't you think that maybe improving the game as it is now would be a good idea instead of just trying to harvest as much money out of us as possible? You guys seem to keep releasing new patches full of new stuff which is also full of hundreds of bugs.
Maybe if you release a final expansion and stopped for a while and starting working on the small stuff like for example the obvious bugs that have been waiting a fix for 6 months.

Maybe, just MAYBE you would be able to have HAPPY players all around Fell, Tram, Malas, Ilshenar and Tokuno instead of loads and loads of threads of complaints etc. and if everything is nicely fixed you will possibly keep players for a longer period of time and maybe bring back alot of old ones as there are'nt all the bugs there used to be.

Anyways, just a question not meaning to rant or anything just want honest answer.

Wilki: Wow, talk about a loaded question.

The simple answer is that EA is a business, and we're all employed there so that EA can make as much money as possible. However, making money in this industry means making your players happy.

In the end, the two aren't exclusive goals. Happy players = more revenue

Apparently we wernt the only players to think that EA needed to get their heads out of their asses. Even with them taking notice to the fact that they need to fix the bugs in that game, they continue to say, "We dont need the vets. We need new players". EA should just shut down their servers and go back to working on sports games.
