should i get and athlon x2 3800+ as a mild future proof processor or a athlon 64 4000+. i know the 4000 beats the x2 in benchmarks but thats because games aren't optimized for dual core yet. oh yeah and im getting an asus a8n-32 deluxe motherboard. I will probalby oc the 3800

i would go with the duel. future games will require that kind of power. right now both ideas are above and beyond what is needed to play. if cost is not an issue get the X2.

I would go with the dual core because to be honest, you'll be using both cores before you'll have the opportunity to truly take advantage of 64-bit computing.
