RE: Jeff Joslin and UFC
Oh yeah, forgot that was on tonight! I'll probably have it on while working on my OpenGL project hehe

It was a good fight.Josh couldnt handle the stand up so he kept taking jeff down to the ground. Jeff's defense on the ground was perfect, holding josh with the butterfly and kept him to elbows only. At one point jefff had josh in the triangle but time expired for that round. If you didnt watch it, the fight went to a decision and josh won. I was impressed by jeff's first UFC match and plan on watching his next fight.

I know i'm a loner on my decision around the area (especially from martial artists) but i wasn't all that impressed. He did have a better standup fight.. Dont get me wrong. I'll give him credit, however he was also not calm and relaxed enough on his feet. He was caught slugging too many times where if he maintained composure he would have had quicker shots, and a better chance of connecting. His defense in the 2nd round on the ground was good. He did a good job of controlling josh from getting anything on him. But thats all it was. He wanted to be on his feet and that showed. Jeffs trained lots on the ground, and for a long time, but you wouldnt be able to tell from that fight. In the third round his ground defense was horrible. Even to go as far as get caught on his side, and then roll to the stomach and turtle. Thats the number one rule... Do Not Turtle on your Stomache! no defense from there, and you're able to be picked a part, opponent gets free reign of arms, legs, neck, whichever! He's got another 2 fights, i'll definitely watch.. but if his performance on those are any like this one, i think that will be his last opportunity to further his career in the octagon.
