Cheaters in CoD.

Change that "oD" to an "S", cuz blatant cheating is on the rise.

A short time ago on one of the Squadgames.com servers, players "Poopy Pants" (Well, his name was in blue) and "A Big Yellow Bird on Crack" had achieved kill ratios of Thirty to None. And that was only in the first two rounds.

Already figuring out a solution to somewhat counter their "Lock-On" hack, I hid at the top of a ladder (Harbor Map) where they would have to climb up without weapon in hand. The first round I tried this, I was lucky to have both hackers attempt to go that way. Bird was taken down as I put a few 9mms in his back, but Poopy pants (either by seing the muzzle flash going through the damned wall, or with a wallhack, which would explain how he threw the grenade) and I exchanged grenades, killing one another.

The second round, Bird ran along the stairs to shoot me from the end of the room, but I was lucky enough then to have another russian climbing in front of me, taking Bird's shots while I shot into them both. Realizing I was the only German left, I went to crouch mode to start moving, and wouldn't you know it: Poopy Jumps off of the ramp and puts two PPSh bullets in my face, even though he could barely see my helmet outside the window.

Damnable Quake 3 engine games.

Unless that contract with Punkbuster gets used soon and CoD gets some cheat protection, CoD isn't going to last in the ways of multiplayer gaming.

1) mandatory login and account verification per CD key/IP address

2) 1 strike your out. Banned from master server

3) More robust punkbuster screenshot utilities for all players ( even a 120x80 window)

4) Somebody smart to make OpenGL 2

That was some great commentary from whichever RoS was speaking in that, "Freakin' moron".

The best and simplest form of anti-cheating was in Diablo 2. They had the Open and Closed servers, closed being Blizzard's hub that requires one to login, and the only way to hack the game is to hack the very Blizzard server.

The closed server would need to be maintained, and that would cost mo-nay. Blizzard's nice enough to continue offering such services for free, though soon with Worlds of Warcraft, they'll be bringing in a hefty payroll, and therefore will be able to continue delivering free Diablo multiplayer play.

Hm, if only I had some means of tracking cheaters' IP to their very location, I'd fly on over and smite them with the flat edge of my katana. Or maybe just display their personal information on a gamer forum, surely at least a few of the righteous anti-cheaters will send death threats or something. Ah, wishful thinking...

I was just reading a forum where they were all saying there were no hackers or cheaters in this game and that everyone saying so were just whiny little b@#$s.

I haven't been able to check out the clip of one fully (wouldn't download and well anyway) but I saw enough to get the idea.

So obviously there are cheaters/hackers and the people saying there are not are either A: stupid or B: the hackers or C: stupid hackers.

In any case...I am glad to have you guys to play with...so I don't really have to worry too much about the people out to ruin the game. Deathmatch was awesome...husband hates it but I think that was because he was on a server full of people and it was too chaotic. It fits my shoot everything that moves trigger happy style. I actually got a few kills.
