No, it's not live. They recorded a whole bunch of video clips for activities and now have logic to recognize commands and play the appropriate clip. Note how the chicken will come into view from multiple places, but then "snaps" into the center position and that's where he starts and ends every action.

Yeah, he recognizes key words and does the appropriate action, or does nothing if there isn't one, but it's still pretty darned funny.
