Processor Speed, RAM, Video Card, that's about it for specs.

Win XP
1.99 Ghz P4 Processor
512 RAM
Radeon 9600 XT
64X DVD-R

I find it absurd at how many people can say that BFV or COD has better graphics than JO. If I put all three games at maximum quality and took a screenshot of an area with a lot of detail/objects, JO will blow you away, because not only does it look awesome, it plays even smoother. Though I won't do that, since I've already uninstalled BFV.

I'm getting my bike out and riding with fourty-three bucks three miles to get JointOps tomorrow morning.

PJ if your game is freezing then it probably is some driver on your system that needs updating (theory). Video, Sound and Motherboard (e.g 4-in-1's for VIA) drivers being out of date can put you on ice.

So, goto START-->RUN...--> (type dxdiag) and then click "Save all info" and plop it into a DxDiag.txt and God have mercy on this page's soul when you copy and paste that information here, so we can take a look.

Hey Imperil, my friend has a Ti4600 with a XP2600+ ... Will the lack of DX9 stuff on this card really make much difference? He is wondering how this game (JO) will do on his 4600. Whatcha think?

Tell him to try the demo but it should run perfectly fine.

The 4600 was/is a solid card and should work perfectly fine, the only cards having problems are MX class and cards underneath the Geforce4 level... basically ones without any pixel shading capabilities.

A ti4600 should still do amazingly well actually. He would most likely run faster than people with higher level cards because they would run them on max settings, while with a ti4600 I would probably set to medium.

I'll get into the debate on graphics....I played the demo last night on my 5700 Ultra and while I think the gameplay is good, I agree with Thowarr on the graphics. I do not think that the graphics are better than CoD. The hands holding the gun look plastic. The gun looks very fake (though I do dig the zoom on the M4) and the foliage is way too spaced out on the map I was on.

Help me out, is it really that the art is poor and not technically that the graphics are?

The demo is set in the moonlight on a colombia style map. It's difficult to see the full glory of the engine in the demo. Check out some other screenshots and its much better than CoD. Not to mention the visual range and clipping plane is FAR extended over CoD.

This game is simply fantastic, and I'm pretty much dumping CoD for this because I don't have time for both.

Good discussion though

I wasn't in the moonlight. It was some island in the middle of the day. Maybe it was my video card, but I pretty much have everything cranked.....

Maybe I secretly don't want it to be better than CoD. 8-)

Anyways - I think I'll wait on it.

I'm picking it up tonight along with Badash. On my 5900 I have the graphics cranked and there isn't an FPS out there right now that can touch JointOps on full details imo, especially with how many players/vehicles/etc are on the map. It is on a farcry calibre level technically, although farcry did look better in many spots due to sheer artwork... but we all know farcry multiplayer was utter crap and can't hold 150 guys with 20+ vehicles.

I found it extremly laggy last night on the demo, my comp just can't seem to handle the graphics. I have a 1.4 AMD Athlon, 512 Ram and a GeForce FX 5900XT. On top of that, the graphics were as low as they could possibly go, and it was still laggy. This game will have to wait until I have the money to get a new PC.
