I hope you did not pay to go see Metalica. Godsmack should be headlining that show.

I personally like them both.

Metalica has some really really nice old stuff, but then songs like I stand alone and Serenity by Godsmack Pwn as well.

hate to be the party pooper here- but when godsmack was around here (and i was watching from some grosly cheap seats that reflected their price) they were definately sub par. I'm not saying i dont like godsmack- but their section of the show was definately full of suck.

metallica of course was their regular self live

dont know what you are smokin but can I have some? lol..... metalica is the defining heavy metal band... I agree everything after the self titled album is less good, but at least they got a new basist....

I have seen metalica over 20 times, would see them again, but godsmack does rock. Box seats are great if you have lots of drugs hehehehe

Well I had no drugs... but tons of drinking... I mean.. I would never.. .. Yeah..

Anyway seeing Godsmack was very very intresting. They did some awesome shit and their drummer's arms... well by the looks of it he had no bones in them. They also did this thing where the vocalist did a dual drummer/bongo peice which was awesome...

Metallica was breath-taking. I moved down to the pit for this one towards then end (Got caught in a bit of moshing ... I love having connections at concerts). They played: Unforgiven, Frantic, Master of Puppets (My opinion the best one), Sad but true, Sanatarium, Ride the Lightning, For whom the bell tolls,Disposable Heros, Enter Sandman, Nothing else matters, Fight fire with fire, Until it sleeps, Holier than Thou, Seek and Destory, Fade to black, one, Fuel

For you guys who said it would suck... I laugh at you. Godsmack was good but Metallica was just phenominal!

I'm sure the SWG guys would be happy that I lost almost all of my voice during Master of Puppets. But yeah... heh.

I haven't smoked the wacky shit in a very long time Yaz. Yes, Metalica was a defining band, but, in my opinion, after Master of Puppets everything sucked. James CAN NOT sing for shit. He should have continued with the growling and screaming and left things the way they were. The last time I saw them was on the Black tour and Jason Newsted had to sing all the old stuff like Whiplash and the Four Horsemen so James did hurt his vocal choards and could sing Nothing Else Matters. Lame. Well this is just how I feel about them. I WILL NEVER pay to see them again. Heres some trivia for ya:

What band did Kirk play with before he joined Metalica? (and no looking it up on the net either. any die hard fan should know this as well as CLiff was not there first bassist either.)

Jeez, this reminds me of a political debate.

I think One, Nothing Else matters, Unforgiven, and other songs played at that temp are not bad at all.... Yes they are slower and not as heavy metal as the rest but it gives the band good variety to be able to like to into Nothing else Matters from a song like Enter sandman and then after it is over go into like Sanatarium.

Cliff may not have been their first basist, but guess what, burton was the best rock and roll basist of all time (yes I saw him live before the master of puppets album came out when they opened for ozzy with randy on the guitar)... and yes randy is the best guitarist in rock'n roll history though jimmy page is arguably at the same level

I'm glad Dave Mustang (I think thats his name) left Metallica and made Megadeth. They were a great band, much better than Metallica IMO.
