Game suggestion

Post by Jenova »

I need some suggestions folks. I am trying to decide what I want to play for my next MMO, but I don't have a whole lot of time. I work about 50 hours a week.

Atleast try the WoW beta (if you have a key of course). I really enjoy the game, many others do, and Arch.... well, I think Arch will end up in the news.... I have a feeling he will go on a killing spree in order to find a broom.

And well, if you don't have the money to pay the monthly fees, go with Guild Wars.

LIkeI said before Ace, wait a few to what game people play the longest. Everyone is saying this game rocks and that one rocks. When Battle front came out it was like, what is COD? And how manny people play it know? Same thing with Halo or Halo2, I cant rember wich one. If cash is tight, I would sit back and see wich one everyone settles on, thats what I'm doing!

Twilight War: After the Fall

IT WILL SAVE YO... No, wait.

The reason I had personally hyped the crap out of Battlefront was because I knew the game's style would have it only be fun if a large number of us had gone to play it together. Most of you (and many other people) were skeptical because so many people continued to relate it to Battlefield 1942, which it is not like at all (besides the Cap&Hold gametype).

I had a lot more fun playing Battlefront than I did COD, but that may have been because I've been playing Quake 3 Engine FPS games since 2000. But now that The Source Engine is out, all kinds of cool stuff will be coming out, from shooters, to action games, to RPGs (Vampire Bloodlines) and MMORPGs (like Twilight War), there's going to be a lot to look forward to. I even remember reading that there will be some sort of racing game using the source engine.

As for suggestions... Guild Wars is one for the casual Online Gamer, since it isn't a MMO in the sense that you do stuff and other people do stuff and your actions influence other things. All locations are instanced, so over five-hundred people are doing the same mission, but you're the only one there, and nothing they do changes what you have to do. Diablo + Fun - Tedium + community - big update patches + easy learning curve + very good PvP mechanics - PvP Ganking + Ability to stay away from fooktards = Something more than a Hacky-Slash that requires skill instead of powerlevelling and benefits casual players and eliminated grinding for anything. Yeah, that's it.

Though Guild Wars is still another half-year from completion, which is awesome- the E3 and World Previews were both near-seamless (to me) and looked as if there would be no need for enhancement, so all they're really doing now is adding even more content and tweaking a few more things for optimal ass-kicking- A more current replacement would be to either join the revived SWG crew in Space or take a whack at that Warcraft pinata. There are a few people going to Everquest 2. And I shall be in seclusion for about a week, playing Half-life 2.

Sounds like lots of opportunity, Ace. Not sure you can go wrong.

I of course am lost to WoW, but am looking strongly at having Guild Wars in my repertoire as well......

from what I can see wow will be a big bunch in chanel and eq2 will be a smaller group, so you can pick from the two of them for an mmorpg... or do you want a fps? the only advantage to guild wars is no monthly fee, never was a diablo guy myself
