Post by midnightservice »

A few questions

1. Okay lets take a head count for source.
2. Are we getting a server
3. What cool binds can i get for buying weapons

and most important. after palying for 2 hours i went from 4 straight maps of being 3-20 to a whopping 24-7. so lets get this rolling folks

Count me in for CS:Source. I can't go back to SOF2 now that I've started playing CS regularily. I hated the original CS but am loving CS:S. As far as cheating goes I've seen a bit of it in CS:Source but honestly I've seen no more than I did in SOF2.

I tried it, but it just doesn't catch my attention. Same 'ol, same 'ol.

and with no PB to ban the rank and file cheaters, I'll pass.

I have it and may play if I can fine the time. I have the server binaries and should have a server up this week. I am sure more info will follow. I do agree that they need to get some hack protection.

I have been doing some research on the net about CS: Source and anti-cheat software. Sometime in the next month Valve is releasing the new VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) client for servers. This had been onhold to catch all the cheats out there before the release. Valve said when theyt release the VAc that 40% of all steam CS:S will be banned do to hacking. the cheat-software will auto ban and list there ip and guid on a national list and keep thembanned from all network game play, even n a lan party they will not get in. I have been reading that even to play a stean powered game over off the net the machine has to be on the net first thento choose offline. at this time it d/l's a file that has your info in ita dn if yoou guid is banned you strill can not play a lan aprty. This is sweet news. Also most of the gaming leagues have announced that the level and amount of hackers are quite low compaired to the First release of CS. To avoid most of the hackers they suggest playingonly on clan based servers that dislike cheaters as much as we do. So i say we run with it. I wam not and will not leave CoD and UO for awhile as i enjoy fragging people on it also. But we need to find a FPS that brings all the old FPS'rs out of the wood work and we get some good old PHX server ac5rtion that is full 24/7. Tema Nachos has a CS:S server running and we all know they hate cheaters as we do. So i say we track down there server and help light it up.

I dunno why the game has turned soo popular, since it does lack the presence of a anti cheat feature. But leagues dont lie and there are a lot of them that offer cs source ladders meaning that its a competitive game.
I might get the game later this week since a lot of the sof2 guys already own the game.

CSSource has issues. Issues where pressing F1 will give you the best primary weapon(s) in the game, and any other gun is just for show. Grenades are hellishly weak. The game is not meant for veterans, but for noobies, as gun accuracy is a roll of the dice and you'll have more of a chance of hitting somebody by not aiming with the crosshair.

When I'm spectating somebody and he's shooting at one guy while he suddenly gets a headshot on the guy twenty feet to the left (time and time again), something is wrong.

When I'm using a P90, am standing ten feet in front of an enemy, and take multiple bursts to his upper body, then he is able to turn around and hit me once with an AK47 in erratic fire to kill me, something is very wrong.

When I'm in a server where I'm the only one running at the legal footspeed, something is wrong on a level unexplainable.

I'll play it, but I'm against it becoming our next big FPS.

If anything, we should be looking forward to such things as Police Quest SWAT 4 (Sometime in Spring) or Pariah (March), or even Twilight War (not until 2006).

For CSS they alrdy have a PB type thing and its kicked over 5000 hackers and still kickin them regularly so the hackin problem will be fixed. I might join the css dont know if i like it too much yet.
