in order to work my new geforce6600 i need to get an upgrade for my motherboard...welll i need to kno my motherboards maker....anyway to find this out?

I will tell you what happens

I put the new graphics card in(yes its in right) and start up my computer and the computer is running but the screen stays blank. Called ChainTech and they said i need to contact my mother board maker, well sonys retarded and i dont see a CMOS or Frimware update on there site. Wtf should i do, i really wanna fire this bad boy up but i cant because of this motherboard prob. HELP

btw ram installed awesomly and not only is game play better but the graphics are to, thanks everyone.

PJ ... does your computer POST with the new graphics card? In other words, does the computer boot but you just don't see anything? or does the computer totally hang at the very beginning and NOT boot at all?

i can hear the computer start...it usally beeps but with the new card in i dont hear it.

its like the monitor dosnt respond

I think I'll read this as it's not booting ...

1) It's not PCI express right?

2) What was your old card? or was it onboard video

its APG

it wasnt on board it was a GeForce4 MX 440

he has the monitor plugged into the wrong port on the back of the vid card

In addition to the above information make sure all cards including the new one are fully seated and that all IDE/SATA/Power cables are seated as well.
