Tournament idea....

I've been toying with this idea for a tournament for SOF2. I think we could get alot of the top guilds into it. Here's the idea. A normal tournament, just like CAL would have, except, you partner with another guild. 10v10 with 5 from one guild and 5 from another. All tourneys have always been one guild vs another, but I haven't seen a paired guild vs another pair.

The main question would be, should the guilds get to choose their partner, or should they be randomly selected. I lean towards letting them pick their partner.

Thoughts or ideas?

Bro, I think you may have stumbled accross something really cool.

Not a bad Idea at all. Now the hard part of making it happen first without some one running with it.

I think some interesting games would ensue.





I'm with ya on the choosing part. if it were random, there would be more opportunity for foul play.

Also, in your format you've mentioned, the ladder could get twice as many games played.

Maybe you could call it "Alliance"

There needs to be a way to have 4 clans vs eachother all at once

Don't know if any of you remember the first Quake:Team Fortress. They actually had a capture the flag set up where it was 4 teams. It was awesome and a great deal of chaos (chaos=fun).

Hmmm that isn't a bad idea. It seems that every clan out there allies with another clan in some form or fashion. This could be there chance to make a little more out of that aliance. I gotta go with chooseing clans. If you got teamed up with a clan that is allied with a clan on the oposing team, your toast.
