The Eliminator is some years old, you could probably find one for ten-twenty dollars. Great responsiveness, I've kicked ass with it for all kinds of games, amazing finding games actually sensetive to how far you move the stick.

Here's one from Logitech, more recent, looks like a PS2 controller, and only twenty bucks.

Don't really like ps2 controllers, prefer xbox because the setup. Like how the xbox live controller is, build in communicator with the headset jack at the bottom with the volume knob, white/black and back/start buttons mirror each other underneath the regular buttons and dpad. If only it was slightly smaller.

Arx Fatalis? Checked gamespot.com for xbox rpgs and that one stuck out.
Pirates of the Caribbean? Looks like a good game to take up alot of time and yell at when something goes wrong.

The Eliminator is somewhat close to the XBox S Controller in size and shape.

Elim, though has the same button layout as the older XBox controller. Though to rectify, instead of black and white being under the right thumbstick, you have an extra two shoulder buttons, and the right thumbstick is parallel to the left.

Those half-circle buttons next to each stick are "Precision" turn either on for each stick individually, and the threshold of movement/aiming is cut in half, allowing you to make accurate movements, good for snipers if you actually want to play a shooter with a gamepad instead of a mouse.

Also for a game choice: LEGO Star Wars. No fooling, it is pretty sweet.

Scientists don't use a mouse to control highly-tuned mechanical arms to deal with microscopic or unstable objects. They've got a little stick or two that moves the arm ever so slowly and precisely. I'm not going to switch from a mouse that allows both quick jolts of movement and precision tuning, to a stick that will only give me usefulness in minor movements.

If only my mouse had more than three buttons (shoot, ADS, Vent talk) and a scroll wheel that worked for COD.

if you wanted there is a program out there where you can use the wired 360 controller on your PC. I cant remember the name but i know you can do it becasue i have had people come in to Gamestop and tell me about it.

There are adapters for PS2, GC, even old ones like Genesis and Nes.

The XBox on the other hand uses USB, so you can just cut off the XBox inlet, and cut off the inlet from some other USB device that actually uses the standard USB outlet. The wires inside both should be colored and equal, just match them, tape it up and plug&play on the PC.

Or... pay six bucks for some adapter for that as well, and not have to worry about getting another XBox controller that works on an XBox.

umm I have used some of those arms you speak of and they dont pull a 180 in .01 seconds to stop dead on a target... you are compairing apples to nuclear warheads here...

as far as buttons go I use a 5 button mouse with a roller and it does most of what I need without the keyboard.

I have tried medal of honor on ps2 and I am sorry aiming is not nearly as easy as with a mouse, even when half way through the game I wished I had a mouse... no way no how that you can react as quickly and accurately with a joystick than a mouse with sensitivity high.

No I'm not. I'm comparing sticks to nuclear warheads and mice to thrust vectoring.
"Mouse... quick jolts" and "stick... minor movements".

Only game I liked aiming with a gamepad stick was Metal Gear Solid 3, but only because I was able to take my time and score a perfect shot even with the rigid right thumbstick.

Actually you can, just turn the sensitivity up high enough, or play the games that you click the thumbstick and it does a quick turn.

I agree with Yaz on this one. For me, the mouse is much more accurate than a console controller. I just can't seem to level my crosshairs with the enemy quickly enough. I waste my time adjusting my aim, and usually die often. However, I have friends that play XBox Live (Ghost Recon, Halo 2), and for them it's the complete opposite.

I guess it comes down to whatever you're most used to. It would be interesting to find out who would win in a mouse users vs controller users FPS match.

For a game stick, I'd prefer some way to go from a fast, smooth turning speed, and when I aim at something, make even a full tilt of the stick to take about a day to go a full 360° for super precision.

Mouse for superiority! Also, when threatened, I can turn my laser mouse upside down and the red light will sear the offender's retinas!

I wonder if they'll incorporate a touchpad onto a controller someday. I somehow get the feeling I'd be more accurate with that than the analog sticks. It would have to be really sensitive, but I think it could work.
