Yeah, I thought that was pretty funny, along with BurgerCraft (the Blizzard-owned fast food restaurant), and the WoW 1.11 patch notes (let's just say it was funny as hell)

2 months later, and here's some news that might actually be true:

http://www.gametab.com/news/597043/

"All Blizzard franchises will become MMOGs."

I highly doubt ALL Blizzard franchises. Lost Vikings MMO? Yeah right.

World of Starcraft? If this article is true, then we may have it in.... 20 years lol. Diablo MMO? Hello 40 man Diablo raid *sigh*

I would definetly like a Starcraft MMO instead of Starcraft 2 (mostly because I don't like RTS's), but I wouldn't want it anything like WoW. Maybe something similar to Savage, where you can choose to command with RTS-like controls or choose to fight with FPS-like controls.

IMO Starcraft Online or whatever they call it would be a kickass backdrop for a decent MMOFPS/RTS Hybrid.

I would have been pacified if they would have just finished Starcraft: Ghost. I've been craving a new Starcraft game for years (Prefer it over Warcraft and Diablo). I just wish Blizzard would chill on the WoW stuff and get to work on getting a new Starcaft out. Even a new Diablo would be welcome.

Another diablo? granted 2 was a very solid game but they died out with it. What would they call it? Diablo 3, curse of the remake?

Maybe if they made a 3rd person action/rpg, with less insanse clicky-ness and more immersive combat controls. Like Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (I know still hack and slash, but still better than DII), only with Diablo.

Well, Blizzard has already hired people to work on Diablo 3. Mostly conceptual stuff so who knows how far it will go. Either way, once they announce anything it's usually released three years after the estimated release date.

Yeah, Indignant beat me to the punch. Many industry insiders already are aware that Blizzard is working on Diablo 3. They just haven't announced it yet mainly because the development timeline is so long and they want all the media and player attention to be on WOW:Burning Crusade. I'd expect that at next years E3, or maybe (outside chance...) this years ECTS, they will announce Diablo 3.

My curiosity lies on if they'll try to rush it out to compete with Hellgate:London, or if the split from Blizzard of the key individuals that really made Blizzard what it is, was amicable enough to dissuade that action.

Oh well....

Yeah, the absence of the old Blizzard staff is starting to show with WoW. Now don't get me wrong, the game's got some quality compared to most of the MMORPGs out there, but it's missing the balance and... charm that made the older Blizzard games so great.
