FINALLY!!

Post by Sythlin »

Hey guys,

I finally got approved to get a new PC, now the spending cash I have is 2800 bucks for the CPU. Now I haven't been up on hardware so I wanted to see if someone could help me make an amazing PC with the best specs and everythin for $2800. I know alienware is the best but if I am paying and extra 200 bucks for the name, I rather go to dell and put that 200 dollars into a better video card or more memory. Thanks guys!!

Naaa intel FTL! Get the Athlon FX 60. It's dual core and one of the best AMD processors out there today. As for the MOBO the asus a8nsli-deluxe. 2x1 gig sticks so you can throw in 2 more in the future. As for the Asus vento case, it's really nice but you wont be able to see all the awsome hardware inside.

As much as you might like the Vento case it's not very well designed, it's a marketing gimmick more than anything. Also as Medic said the X2 is a far better CPU than the current Intel D-series cpu's so i'd go with that one.

Other than that looks good.

Also, if you can hold of just a bit, Intel's Conroe line of processors is supposed to be the bee's knees (according to benchmarks...)

The best deal (and fastest system) right now is picking up the D805 (2.66Ghz) Intel dual core and putting on some $40 Zahlman cooling and clocking it between 3.6-3.8Ghz. You can outperform even the FX-62 with good cooling and hit 4.0Ghz.

Not to mention its 140 bucks Canadian for the CPU so hey you'll save a bit of cash. This would definately be the processor I'd buy if I wasn't waiting until January to do a new desktop (Intel quad-core and DX10 SKUs!).
I have no sig.
