Anyone else see it over the weekend?

 Best movie I've seen since the LotR trilogy IMO. Once it gets going, it's nothing but intense, gory, heart-pounding action. Great visuals, great action and great acting (for an action flick).

*** Miniscule Spoiler ***

I think my only complaint is that I felt like I wanted to see more footage of the rise of the Persian army, to get a real sense of the Spartans impending doom. You know, show the other cities being conquered and obliterated. Maybe give an inside look at the lives of the slaves serving Xerxes.

Aside from that, it was well worth the money. It's one of those movies that you HAVE to see in theatres.

LOL it really isn't a spoiler, it's just a mention of what I wished they added to the movie.

I just put that indicator to cover my ass :P

Awesome movie. Loved the stylistic and vivid colouring in it. Will happily buy whatever SE copy comes out to sit beside Sin City. Plus the IMAX version is pretty cool.

Well, the story of Xerxes in the bible gives a different depiction of how he ruled and how he let the jews rebuild there wall around there city.
The cup bearer to the king, Nihamiah, asked Xerxes if he could go back to jeruselem(sorry for spelling) and rebuild the walls that were destroyed by Xerxes. For some reason the king said yes and gave him soldiers and supplies to do so. Pretty strange eh? The walls would be rebuilt to keep out the enemies, like the persians.Yet , the king allowed the walls to be built and the jewish tribes returned to the city. Perhaps, Xerxes felt they wouldnt be strong enough to defeat the persians even if they returned and rebuilt.

Sorry, edit my last post. Babylonians destroyed jeruselem. The persians defeated the babylonians and took the city of babylon for there own. Then Xerxes allowed the rebuilding of the wall.
