How is it? I've heard nothing but good things on a few gaming sites.

Seeing as how I know more people wanting this than Quake Wars, I'm probably going to cancel my QW pre-order and get TF2 instead.

I am playing it and it is a lot of fun... If you played the original you should love it... It would be nice to have some PHX'ers because it is better as a team...

It appears that "if you played the original" makes this game a negative. Almost everybody from the olden days of Classic and QuakeWorld won't stop whining about the lack of smaptastic and class unbalancing secondary grenades.

This is easily the best Team First Person Shooter ever.

The beta is explicitly for bugs and class balancing. Many have already been fixed over the last week. Final product will look just like it is now, minor tweaks aside.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. But the value of pre-ordering the whole package is pretty good. $45 gets you Half Life 2 with both Episodes, Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Peggle. TF2 on it's own is $29. So you can just buy TF2, but if you want to play the other Valve games, it's worth getting the whole sha-bang.

I have to say, this game is really slick. I'm still trying to learn how to properly play the different classes, but right now my favorites are the Scout, the Heavy and the Spy. I'm glad I decided to get this instead of QW.

$30 - Half Life 2
$20 - Episode 1
$30 - Episode 2
$20 - Portal
$30 - Team Fortress
______
$130 - Individual Price Total

$50 - Orange Box Package price

By getting the package, the price of each game is equal to $10. Another $5 off if you buy in the next two weeks.
With a single redundant game (HL2), you're down $10. (or $20 if you also have Episode 1)
Buying only TF2 puts you down $20 and three/two other games.

You may not be interested in the other games (Portal/Episode 2), but fives games are being given at discounts of 50% or 66% each as long as you buy them all together - that's one awesome deal.

End viral marketing.

I'm going to try and play tonight or tomorrow. I'll get on Vent if I'm on.

I'm also going to create a Steam Community for us. I'll provide info as soon as I get it set up.

Please post your SteamIDs here so I can invite you into the Steam Community for PHX.

Thanks!
