RE: New Headset
I've got this GameCom Pro 1 and I'm very happy with it personally.

I go though headsets like Coke. If I were more careful and I would buy a quality one. hehe

Well, when you have kids that use yours and we all know how well kids treat stuff, you tend to not buy the upper-end stuff.

My room mate uses these: http://www.steelseries.com/us/products/5hv2/information
With the ear cup form factor, they are actually really comfortable. I've never been able to wear over-the-head head sets for more than a couple hours, but I had these ones on most of Saturday and didn't have any problems.

I have had the Turtlebeach X1's for almost a year and they are very nice. Great audio clarity, and very comfortable. I highly recommend TB!
Most people are like slinkies, they are only entertaining when you push them down stairs....

Any other recommendations for a head set? I've been looking around for the past couple weeks and I can't seem to decide on one. Comfort is the #1 criteria for me. I usually like the behind-the-head style ones, but they all seem to be either lower quality or they become uncomfortable after a couple hours. I almost went with the Steelseries Siberia Neck Band headset, but then found multiple reviews indicating how uncomfortable they became. I'm also a bit weary of the traditional over-the-head style ones, because the ones I've used before felt like they put a lot of pressure on your head and ears (plus they squish down my hair, so you end up looking like a tard for the rest of the day
).

akr8 is comfy... but it ends there... it needs to much power to run so if you have a gaming mouse... or a keyboard.. they dont work well with each other on the same usb bar.. im sending it back.. no way im having a 120 dollar worthless pile sitting around.... gonna try the gamecom 777 tho.. looks nice and comfy.. has a usb sound card.. and its half the price... which will give me enough cash to get a razer lachesis as well
lol.. if you dont really need super quality sound 10 bucks is the way to go.. save money... i had a 20 dollar pair back in the day that worked good for talking on vent.. but if you get more into competitive gaming in the FPS types.. sound is everything.. a good set with 5.1 surround comes in handy letting you know where people are all around the map... they make one little slipup and you can tell where they are and either setup for the shot.. or toss a nade
id dare say a good set of headphones can turn any average player into somebody extremely deadly
and not too mention the 10 dollar pairs dont really fit my fat head and huge ears =D

Meh, speakers aren't worth it if you're always on Vent.
I finally went with the Steelseries 5H v2 Mouz. They sound great (at least way better than the Logitech ones I had), the ear cup form factor make them extremely comfortable, and I was told my voice was perfectly clear on Vent. Got them for 98$ from Direct Canada, arrived next day. Couldn't be happier!
