So I hear you... Some of you are less than pleased with the new site. I mentioned that I don't have it all done yet, but I'm already open for suggestions, comments, and flat out criticism (i.e. pretend you're PooMonkey). Plus, it helps me prioritize what I am working on.

Let's hear it... What do you miss from the old site or were really hoping the new site would bring?

I think there should be a separate forums button at the top. Know it sounds picky, but it would probably be THE most used apart of the site, so it should be a sub-option.

Also having a quick-reply box was really good on the last one. Would be nice to get that back.

The top graphic needs some work. I felt the banner you had on the old site was cool. If you could find an animated banner or get someone to make one. Something eye catching. I love the news articles on different games and new releases. I think a shout box is needed, calender updated for sure. Cant remember all the PHX birthdays. We would have alot more posts just from that. Plus, the voting system would be laid out.Hmmmm.....cant think of anything else just yet.

Yup. All good suggestions. I'll see what I can start cranking out this weekend. Calendar shouldn't be hard to get the dates moved over. As far as the banner, IDO made a similar suggestion to me offline. Maybe something wider and thinner to gain a little real estate.

I really like the one that Den provided and maybe I can talk him into revamping it, but if not I'll see what I can come up with.

The links to your's and Dens review thingys don't work for me. Do they just not work or am I an idiot? Just my 2cents, but to me, the site looks like a giant advertisement instead of a guild website. I think it needs to be more about PHX than news. I wish I had some ideas, and I have been thinking about it, but can't seem to come up with anything.


Again, maybe I am an idiot, but I don't see the remember me(keep me logged in) button. I like those!

Yeah, the links to Den and I's columns don't work because we don't have them done. As far as the advertisement, the one thing I was trying to do with the new site was to make it more useful as far as news went. If there was a new game coming out in beta, a great deal on some hardware or a game, or a major patch - I wanted to provide a channel for people to get that information. I also want to focus more on PHX News, but right now, outside of the PHAAAX stuff - there isn't any, or no one is passing the info to me.

As far as the "remember me", it's not there. I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do because I'm not happy with the way this bridge is working right now.

If you do have more suggestions, please let me know. I am open to new ideas, whatever they are.

i like the new look... its different... obama likes change... i do think that the white background is a bit much of an eye shock with the grey around the edges.. maybe dull it down a hair?... we need more shiney flashy things tho!

I dont know what your limitations are when it comes to backrounds but ive seen alot of cool back drops that represented the website well. For example:

For the NHL site i like how it has the Stanley Cup in the back round. If we had like a phoenix rising up in the back round or have the back drop all on fire, that would look awesome.

I really was sick of the old site, i like the new site.

all and all we use the forums more than anything and the "recent" posts thing is still there, maybe if it was 10 most recent would be nice.

the new site is better hands down.

I'm really not happy with the way the integration is working with the new site, so suprisingly - i'll probably be updating the site again. Frustrating because even for a broken site, it took a lot of work just to get it where it was.

FYI - IDO and I are going to start tag-teaming redoing the site again. We're going to split the site into two main parts, a news front-end, and a forums-driven back-end. Hopefully, this will make it easier to solve these login issues while providing the features we care about to our members.

Also, we're looking for people that want to help contribute to the site. I'm not looking for a commitment, but I would like to see people that are interested in either submitting news articles about either divisions, games that they find interesting, or even editorial columns (similar to what you see teased on the front page now with mine and Den's columns.

Overall, we're just trying to provide a site you guys find valuable, and hopefully eventually, entertaining.
