Mortal Online - Mix of Ultima Online and Darkfall

Post by Sauk »

Those who enjoyed playing Ultima Online, Shadowbane or Darkfall should check out Mortal Online.

The developer was a big fan of UO prior to Trammel. I have found more pvp in this game then in Darkfall. If you die your stuff will remain on your corpse and can be looted by anyone and you take a ghost form until you find a priest or player to resurrect you.

Skills: There are hundreds of skills in the game to choose from. Skill points are limited to 1100 points for primary and unlimited on secondary skills. Skills can be trained up to a max of 100. Some of the skills include taming, thieving, harvesting, weapon skills, crafting etc...

Guilds and Housing: Players can get housing in the game and may form guilds. Rent for housing is paid to the controlling guild in the area. Guilds can build forts and castles and fight for control.

PvP and safe zones: There are NO safe zones within the game. Players in warring guilds can attack each other in towns and thieves will pick your pocket. If you attack a person that is blue or commit a criminal act you turn grey and may be attacked without any penalty to other players. If you kill to many blues you will turn red and be attacked by everyone although it seems like most who don't live in a npc town are red. If someone commits a criminal act inside town such as stealing and you catch them you can call the guards by saying "guards" and they will attempt to kill them.

The game is free to download and will cost nothing to play if you choose the free to play option. Skills are limited to 60 with the free to play option. If you wish to subscribe it will cost about $15.00 a month and skill points can go to 100.

Download the game at

or check it out at Steam Greenlight

I tried it, and I actually liked it a lot, the problem is it is a 4 year old game with extreme bugs still and it is in essence a dead game. It is a morpg not an mmorpg.

Was fun learning the mechanics, learning to tame etc and get around and whatnot. very uoish, not sure what you think is darkfallish lol I honestly was not a big fan of darkfall one or two. It was a zerg or be zerged game most of the time (both of them)
