I dont know of any work opportunities with my parents, but i would like to jump on Afterburner/Aaron's wagon. Hey Aaron, are you a student? All of Drk are students at Indiana University. We all have computer science and IT backgrounds. Then each of us is focusing in a different field. (i.e. I am an Informatics major with a Computer Science cognate and minor; Optimus Prime: CS, Journalism, Italian; N@sty: Buisiness, CS; Hydrogen: Math, Physics, German, CS; etc.) We would be willing to use our knowledge, resources, and skill to start our own company. We just need more peeps like us. Let me know.

Consulting is where the money is boys.....learn all you can about server consolidation and web applications, then tout yoursleves as gurus to all the major companies around Blm, IN. Money will flow, gates will open, and you will be famous.....ok, a little over dramatic, but there's a lot of money in that....

N@sty and I were talking about that very same thing this morning. He said that a consulting firm is what I have been talking about. While we are still students, we have gained the knowledge to perform almost any task that you might find on <a href="http://codelance.com">Codelance.com</a> a free lance coder web site. 5 of the members of Drk took a Netwoking tech and administration course and a webmastering course. For our final project, we did what any consulting agency would do. Check it out and let me know what you think: <a href="http://burrowww.cs.indiana.edu:11417/dr ... tml">Drk's Home Page</a> built during this last semester on the Burrowww server hosted by Indiana University. Each person that worked on the project did a different piece of it in a different language which is why it doesnt look uniform. For this project we used CGI, Perl, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Java Servlets, JSP, HTML, mySQL, XML, and a few more.

Hehe Arch, you're right though, consulting in where the money is. And AdDiCt, keep up the good work, you'll do just fine out there in the job market.

I've contracted at 3M and currrently at Pentair for the last 4 years, and my opinion is that Web Services and Wireless are the biggies. Personally, I'm a security nut (CISSP stuff) so I have been pouring though white papers and books galore devouring any and all aspects of security regarding those 2 mentioned technologies.

I guess my advice would be to find an area of expertise and be a MASTER at it. Also, it's who ya know, not necessarily what.

We got techies in PHX, yes sir! I love it!

My expertise would benefit when putting the team together and executing the colabrative decisions. project management, HR, financials and team building. i suppose you could say, im a Jack of all trades being that i can always find the right Jack for the job. resourceful. AdDict, it sounds like you guys got something to sell and the team to do it....wish I were sitting in your dorm parties discussing these ideas with you...Make it happen. Anyone recall how Manopoly was created?
The only problem with getting a consultation firm off the ground is getting the first major contract to set the stage. track record sells consultation.
