BG II demo

Post by Undead_Mercenary »

Well I need some help with this problem I have with the Baldur's Gate II demo I downloaded. Yes, I had to download all 7 parts, so I'm real ticked off that it doesnt work after all the downloading. Supposedly, after getting all 7 parts, the installer should work fine. The 1st part was the installer, the other 6 were W0 files, ie Prt 2 = .W02, Prt 3 = .W03, etc. So now that I try installing, it gets to about 16% then says I need to insert a new disk. Also, it gives the exact directory to the file of the second part. *Presses Enter and it does nothing* ... ooook *types in \2demogs.W02 with directory and tells me the file already exists....*

So, has anybody ever tried getting this demo and having the same problem? The only site I found giving information about problems with the demo was Fileplanet, but it only explained how to fix it if the demo asked for the CD after installed. Is this a Win XP problem? Please help me if possible, I spent too much time getting this shit.

Where did you get the demo from originally? it should be a single executable if it came from a place like fileplanet

I was looking at FilePlanet to download the demo and try it out, and holy &*%$ & files each at 97 mb each. Maybe later...but I did read that if 1 file was not complete the install will fail. So Merc check each file and make sure they are complete. Maybe you just need to re download one of the files. Good Luck!!

I have the retail BGII game plus hint book, and they're yours Merc if you want them. All I would ask is the shipping. PM me if you're interested.

This was one of my all time favorites, but I finished it long ago, so it's not doing me any good :P
