ive been playn guitar for about 2 and a half years. im the rythm/distorted guitar player in a rockabilly/swing/punk band. Its my first band and we've been playn for about a couple months, but we are all friends and 3 of the guys are from another band that jus broke up and then one of them and the other guitarist have played together before so we got lots of great chemistry. I think it sounds pretty bad ass. we are workn on covers right now playn stuff like buddy holly, johnny cash, stray cats, and then addin a lil speed and distortion and what not and its just comin out great. Its something that young peoiple will like but the older folks might even get into also.

Hey J-Rock, I used to play guitar myself. I played for about 7 years, thae I got my finger cut off. Its kind of hard to play a power chord with no index finger! LOL. But I still know every Metallica not for note. I can still fiddle for a little while till my stub starts to hurt. Also played a lot of Pantera, Slayer, and Megadeath. Wish I still could play. Lots of new music I would'nt mind jammin to.

I have been playing for almost a year now. I pretty much play only Iron Maiden since most of their songs aren't too difficult to play (not to mention the best friggen metal band on earth!). What kind of guitars do you guys own? ATM, I have a Squier by Fender. Yeah, cheap piece of shit, but mind as well get shit when you cant play very well. I hope in the future to purchase either a BC Rich Warlock or Assasin.

i have a squire double fat strat... its the best piece of shit you can buy. its black on black. im lookn at getn an epiphone sg sometime this summer if get some extra cash, but then i also have to buy a bigger amp to play shows so yeah, proly no new guitar for j-rock this year. Have any of you watched on VH1 100 Most Metal Moments? The guitarist for i think it was black sabbath in his last day at some factory before he quit to be in the band full time choped off the tips of like 2 or 3 fingers... well he got some like prostetic finger tips er something and kept goin with 4 fingers or something. ANd Def Leopard's one armed drummer.. What does all this mean? I think you rock harder if you do it while missing body parts so Dr Death i applaud you with some devil horns. Rock on bro!

XoR, we need to hook up! I play a kick-ass harmonica and my ukulele skills are l337.

In fact, "Devil Went Down to Georgia" was about me, but they had to change it because they didn't think the ukulele was cool enough!

FOOLS!! ALL FEAR THE MIGHTY UKULELE!! JUST WAIT UNTIL I GET MY ELECTRIC ONE!!!

Along with your uber singing skills, you'd be one... um... er.... somewhoe "scary" only comes to mind....

LOL Zarn, I know how you feel on the trumpet thing. From the 6th grade to the 9th, I had no other choice than play that tootin piece of crap because I didnt want to take art (I cant draw worth shit).

Believe me when I say you'd be better off learning the guitar and NOT playing for a SKA band.

SKA... *shudders*
