ftp help anyone?

Post by Levangles »

ok, so here's my ugly situation:
i'm attempting to setup an ftp site, i have bulletproof ftp and it worked for me before, but the problem NOW is that i just got a router.
so, i went into the router and i did the port forwarding thing and set it up. the problem is that is still doesn't friggen work?!
realize- i'm not very good with any type of computer activity....

thanks,
lev

Well, you need to make sure that there is not only port forwarding, but that the port itself is open in your firewall for your system to talk back to the client. Make sure of that first.....

You need to go into you router setup, in the security/firewall section, and open port 21 to the IP of the machine you will be using that protocol with, it is easier if the machine has a static IP instead of a router assigned on. In a nutshell anyways!!
