I'm just not so sure anymore about the dates. I was positive because of the Gamespy slip-up that sign-ups would be last Thursday. Then the maintenance delays happened which I think pushed back the plans. I had originally thought prior to the Gamespy slip-up that the Open Beta wouldn't start until November 1st, and would run up into release (Nov. 15th-ish). Now, I'm starting to think that is exactly what is going to happen....

yea this is getting really confusing. Blizzard radio- or whatever that thing is, started talking about how rumours stated WoW OB was going to open up on monday (today)... and lo' and behold nil this morning.

a blizz rep, on the WoW forums, said something:
There's a lot of preparation going on in many major areas some of which is out of our hands, so we have to receive a green light from all relevant parties in order to go forward.

that makes me feel like Arch's feelings will most likely prove true. damn.....

I'm actually tired of the rumors because all it does is get my hopes up because some freaking n00b thinks he has some inside info or theory, but touts it in a half-way believable manner so that I halfway buy in. For instance, the latest rumor has it that after the screenshot competition ends at 11:59am PDT, that we will see some sort of announcement. It makes no sense really.....but like an idiot, in 10 mins I'll be checking the page just in case.

to bad the creators didnt do the same thing the creators of Halo did for the release of Halo2. The project manager on this one actually tattood the release date on his arm because he was tired of all the delays. IT WORKED! Halo2 due out Novemeber.

yea... as much as i'm attempting to stifle all the rumours about OB times- (i had a class today 12-2 PST) - i wont lie... i had that hope that when i got home something would be goin on.... but needless to say i continue my sitting and praying

Yeah, me and my firend at school are constantly complaining about the wait. But he says he isn't very surprised. I dunno if it's true, but he said that when Diablo 2 was in CB, they said OB would start soon, and it took 2 months (or was it 2 weeks...).

I can't remember. I remember them explaining that there would be 3 phases of closed beta, then an open beta that would allow you to play through Act I. I don't however remember exactly how long it was between when they said that Open Beta was actually coming soon and Open Beta actually coming to fruition.

Regardless, when Open Beta hits, you'll hear it from me because I'm sadly refreshing the WoW forums every 5 mins.....*sigh*
