I'm starting to like UO again ... oh yeah.
Last night I had the funnest time in a while. Me and these 3 other guys whom I had never met were in Buc's den just bloodthirsty and jacked up at any hint of a red player. 3 hours of total pandemonium. I never died once. Red corpses everywhere, 2 power weapons and a kmart grocery bag full of reagents. MAN I MISS PHX IN UO!!! Thats all I was thinking the whole time. I know we're gonna kick the door back in in a big way, I can feel it.
Couple of questions lurk in my mind. I will list them numerically.
1) 100 anatomy gives +30% damage right? what does 120 anatomy give?
2) What is a more effective bard : 120 provocation/100 music -or- 110 provocation/110 music ?
3) If you had to choose between 120 tactics or 120 anatomy for enhancing damage, which is the one to pick of the two? I see anatomy as being advantageous due to its auxillary effects on healing.
4) Any advice on raising fencing to 120 in a hasty manner? I hate wasting time building skills. What creatures are the best to get to 120 the fastest?
5) can I have your stuff

I had UO. My friend (u know him as Unholy Spirit) plays it non-stop on this french server. I didnt really get into it since:
1.It takes light years for ur little fat head to swing his sword
2.Everything sems to be slow i guess
3.God damn fatigue...so damn annoying
4.U feel like a total newbie to everything since ppl are teleporting everywhere and summoning things 5 times ur size.
5.I h8 the graphics.
6. I wish i still had it.....

nope 120 tactics by far the extra 5 points with bandages doesnt make up for the huge amount of dmg and frequecy you hit that tactics gives.
4) Any advice on raising fencing to 120 in a hasty manner? I hate wasting time building skills. What creatures are the best to get to 120 the fastest?
use a Mechanical Golem, if you need one made let me know:)
5) can I have your stuff
not even Santa is that giveing

Undead :
Did you have the 3D version? or the 2D sprite version.
This makes a big difference.
The 3D version looks like a science project that 4 high school students got together after reading the book "Direct3D for dummies" and then kicked you in the nutsack, turned you upside down and shaked your gold out of your pockets ...
You can easily spot the 3D version, as it looks like the sims alpha from 1997.
But the 2D version is impressive when you consider the scope of all the little tidbits.
Also, PVP is where the fun is. Slammin down some punk that was flappin his fat lips, and taking all his stuff. Words cannot describe that.

Nothing like rolling in on a bunch of trash talking fools with a band of your brethren PHX, fireworks and clanking steel that famous OhhUUooHH sound 1 bye one, only to strut over thier lifeless bodys, picking them clean while thier ghost stands helpless and watches...haveing them beg to be in PHX the next time you see them
..This might be one of the oldest divisions in PHX
so it wont take long for the Phoenix to rise again.

You bring up a good point Undead.
Not everyone wants to be standing there minding their own business and suddenly 3 red PK's come storming in from the hills and cut your defenseless hind end down into little giblets of wormfood. As much as 75% of the population feels this way, that PvP combat is a curse.
From the moment I was PKed by some gentleman named WHOOPASS on my first day of playing, I knew that PvP was the bottom line. You can be the grandest king of the land with gold and jewels coming out of your ass, and have all the giggling pixel-hoes on your cyberjock ... but PvP is where respect is won. I knew this day 1.
Which really makes me wonder about the 75% chatty cathy crowd. What is it about PvP that they don't like? Well I don't think its PvP that they don't like, its the other 25% of the people they don't like.
Unfortuneately all the car jacking, criminal minded, vandalistic prank hacker jackasses end up in the 25% crowd. The last thing a 14 year old criminal fired up on crack wants to do is play his harp socializing at the bank. No, he wants to go grey and have half the shard chase him in and out of server lines, rez kill, block doors, and spam LOL and ROFL.
Which is sad, because Ultima's PvP is hands down the best PvP out there. The fluffy bunny wabbit crowd is missing out on some of the best times ever possible on a game.
All my fondest memories have been in some form of PvP.
My first real taste of a true PvP showcase was treading in the Balron room in the depths of Terathan Keep, with PKs and griefer thieves crawling around every corner. The chaos that unravels as 2 Balrons are let loose in the halls with everybody in a panic casting invisibility to stay alive, while rouges reveal those people and lead the Balrons around to peoples dooms. People going grey looting all the corpses and then attacking the greys... Casting paralyze on people just as the Balron catches up to them... Hording Terathan Avengers into the Balron room and then blocking the exit... Casting Wall of Stone just as the greys try and escape...<REPEAT>
Oh and the loot! I must have got 20+ vanquishing broadswords from that place back in the day.
And who can forget PHX in Yew? Man, that was the most fun. Crazy people everywhere going grey, looting and stealing. Crowds of people looking for that right moment to pounce. Chaos and Order hunting for victims. And remember House Hida Villa, just west of the yew gate. That was some fun house raiding. All the reds peeking out the doors only to get 14 explosions dumped on them and die as they run inside. Aah, this is just scratching the surface of our little exploits in yew ... I'll never forget them.
Basically the whole point of this post was that PvP is an essential staple of my fun and tense experiences. Had the ability to PvP been removed, it would have been like eating non-sweet chocolate. Bleah.
