Site Maintenance

Post by Archangelus »

This weekend, our website and Ventrilo may be unavailable from time to time. The website outage will probably be extensive, but we will be working hard to ensure that the Vent outages will be minimal in frequency and duration.

Thank you for your understanding.

if vent goes down tonight for the match i will have my vent server running for the match play only. i will ahve it live 2 hours before game time and will let the crew know the contact info at that time. I can only allow practice and match team access. as it will eat up my bandwith for game if everyone connects at that time. after the match and it is still down i will open it up to everyone as bandwith will not be a problem at that time.

I don't know if we will have a web status page, but Vent will still be available.

Please peform the following.

1) Disconnect from Ventrilo
2) Open a command prompt (Start -> Run -> 'cmd')
3) Type ipconfig /flushdns
4) Reconnect to Ventrilo

If that didn't work, make sure that you are pointing to voice2.phoenixorder.com in your vent settings!!
Thanks and sorry for the inconvienence!

Ya know, I had no trouble the first time and after a reboot I had to put in the IP. Then I switched it back to Voice2 in stead of the IP. I could not connect. I did a net stat and found the old IP in there 3 times and did a ipconfig /flushdns and each time only 1 of the IPs was gone. So I actually had to do the ipconfig /flushdns 3 times, when I saw no IPS when I did the netstat I tried to connect and it worked just fine with Voice2. Does this make any sense?

Well, to see if your DNS was truly flushed, after you do /flushdns, you do /displaydns and make sure that voice2.phoenixorder.com doesn't show up in that list.

Just a heads up - I may be screwing with the site this weekend, so if it's unavailable - don't freak. I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to keep myself from clicking that stupid WoW logo, but I'll try....

Oh, and BTW, this will have 0 (zero) effect on the Vent server or game servers.

Thanks and buh-bye now.....

Ok, no seriously, no joke.

The site IS going down sometime between 5-6pm EST.

Ventrilo, SOF2, and CoD servers should be unaffected for the most part (Vent may go down once, but if properly configured, you will reconnect and I will also try and provide warning before the outage)

I plan to have the site back up in most capacities tomorrow morning.

Thanks!!

I didn't get as much done as I was hoping tonight, but phase 1 is complete (though you won't really notice it). If tonight is any indication, the site will probably be unavailable for batches every night this week.

Thanks for being patient!!

We understand!

Updates and maintenence is a fact of life on the internet.

"A painting is only finished when the artist stops working on it" someone said.

The same is true with software sometimes :D

You and IDO have been great in giving us a community website that is incredible, so a little downtime is nothin'

So freakin' hurry up already!!!!!!!1!1!!! j/k

is the fact that the most recent posts are not on the home page intentional or my computer being a piece of shit?
