I have placed the NEW MAPS on our PHX - Come and Play server. Which has been renamed PHX - 1.03 Patch and New Maps. You must have the 1.03 patch to join.

The gold patch is rather quite anemic at best. 3 maps and, possibly, new gun sounds [i dont hear the difference???] is not a suitable "Gold" product.

Something with more features should be ranked Gold. Isn't that why patches are called Gold??? To represent a new change in gameplay to augment the original game??? SOF2 is the same game before Gold...

I remember my excitement over the first patch!!

Gold is nothing special to me. Very much appreciated, but not a Gold product...

Lite will only upgrade a 1.02 client to 1.03 (Gold)

Full will upgrade any client to 1.03 (Gold)

I agree with FGO. From the perspective of someone who has played SOF2 from the Demo... the patch offered less than any of the other patches. No new weapons or gametypes. The Three maps are very nice in all gametypes. Personally I think it is old "Gold" to make it the same as the newly released retail Gold version. Marketing marketing marketing... it is just so they can say to someone that has never purchased the game that they added all these enhancements since the original release (gametypes, weapons, maps, etc).

So enjoy the maps and ignore the hype.

I guess it is because of the new first-person shooters coming out very soon. Raven wanting to cash in as much as possible on the SoF2 name brand before it's overtaken by newer releases. Valid marketing strategy. too bad they didn't have the time to properly develop the patch. The competition in the gaming industry is just that fierce....
