Mindfreak blew my mind!
Alright first off, I may be guillible and ignorant in this matter, but if what I just saw was true, it was one of the most shocking things I've ever seen.
10:00 PM EST - 11:00PM = 2 episodes of Mindfreak on A&E. For those who aren't familiar with this show, it's basically just a show about Criss Angel and the crazy shit he does. A lot of experiments he does are pretty amazing, but what he just did was just jaw dropping.
Levitation.
I'm talking about actually being able to lift yourself off the ground and hover. On his own, he did it about 8 - 10 times in different places, from hovering off the floor onto a chair, to gliding up an escalator without even being on a stair.
On top of that shit, he was making other people float. He pretty much hypnotized a woman, then with the help of 3 other people, had her floating perfectly vertical in mid-air (they all let go after a couple seconds). Afterwards, he made her slowly hover back to the ground and woke her up.
It's pretty hard to believe, and after watching him do it over and over, I really wondered if it was even possible for it to be fake. When the woman was floating, he was passing a cane underneath and around her... guess that leaves out any kind of wires or whatever.
There's some other crazy stuff I've watched him do that has made me say "OK WTF!". Is there anyone else who watches this show and truly believes what he does in real? Or maybe someone has proof that he's a fake?
All I know is that it would be totally badass to be able to levitate. I gotta see this guy live sometime!

Never heard of Criss Angel before now. Torrenting some shows, also waiting to see next Wednesday's show of him walking down a building.
...See if he's just another David Blaine, a really elaborate fake set-up guy wire-trickster with dozens of people on-scene paid to say he did something crazy-fantastic, or a real psychic magic super saiyajin sorcerer who can tap into the infinite power of the universe.

it is fake! the show is developed to amaze viewers at home. u will never see him on the street doing these tricks because the street is usually blocked off except for the filler ppl to make it look real.the reason u havent heard of this guy before is because he is a nobody, paid by the network,to freak u out.......at home! it takes alot of setup and retakes to do what he does and u only see the outcome.
PS if employees of A&E are reading this....screw off we have our own mind freak.................surrender!

ask yourself this. if it was possible to levitate, would u be displaying it to every1. trust me, its common sense. its well known that all magic is slight of hand. meaning there is always an explaination. the problem is most ppl want to believe that its possible. now i have a question for u.....how do u know that NASA has actually been able to put someone onto the moon? u dont because u didnt do it yourself. this question the russians put out there went the americans hit the papers with there big news. it went on to explain how easy it would be to fake all the camera work by doing it in a studio.even the take off was explained. launching a unmanned missle up out of the atmosphere then let it fall back to earth in another location. what your asking for , i can answer.....common sense. you believe what u want but it seems pretty obvious to me.

I agree that it is very easy to trick people with so called magic tricks, and numerous things can be altered on television. And yeah, if I could levitate, I'd probably be inclined to keeping it a secret (mostly because you'd be bothered about it all the time). But that doesn't explain if he can or not. Maybe he just likes being a show-off. It's always a possibility.
I don't see how you can compare the US moonlanding to this though. After watching the video footage many times, I quickly came to the conclusion that it was fake. Why? Because there's no wind on the moon, so how could the flag be moving on it's own? Some may argue this, but it seems like concrete proof to me.
With Criss, there is no proof. To you, because it's "magic" and it's on TV, it has to be fake. That is your reasoning. I've read something about a Russian woman in the 70's that was capable of levitating small objects in her hands. Who's to say what's possible or impossible? I can see the whole show being a hoax, it wouldn't come as a surprise to me. But you can't just say that it's common sense that it's fake.
Take this as an example. According to scientists, the average human only uses around 10% of their brain power (something around that percentage). What if further training of both the mind and the body could enable one to do things seen on Mindfreak? Telekenesis (sp?)? To me, there isn't really a lot of stuff about human limits.
Another thing he did just came to me. He went to a jewelery store and asked the person at the counter to give him a a nice, expensive ring. It was around 18 karats, so it had enough mass to it. Now, if you've ever seen a jewelery counter before, like this one, the top is glass, and the items are displayed below it. What Criss did was press his hand on the ring sitting on the glass. As he lifted his hand, you could see the ring pass through the glass and fall on the other side. And the camera never once changed angles.
Anyways, what I'm getting at is the "common sense" card doesn't convince me. I'm still slightly skeptical about Criss Angel, I really want to see tests and shit done to see if he's the real deal. But man, levitation... it's just fascinating.

heh heh, umm... hey Merc, tell you what, if he could do that for all public viewing he would be here in vegas doing it with all the other guys getting 100 mil a year doing it in front of average joe, at 120 bucks a ticket, its still a very good buy to see it up close, course sigfried and roy cant do it anymore since his pet tiger trashed roy.. guess its a good idea to feed the cat and not piss him off right before a big show, why do you think the only time you see copperfield is on TV... only the ones that are real good at it can do it in front of anyone, there is only like 1 other guy here in vegas now that can levitate, and even that is only done when the special effects team is grooving....
in other words he is not a fake, he can only levitate with a million bucks worth of special equipment and a paid off audience, but like the WWE/NWE/WWF/ and whatever wrestling shit is out there, there are always those who think its real, just my 2 pennies...
and the jury is still out on the man on the moon, if they did it way back then, then you know they have the money and ability to do it again, funny how they just choose not to, there has to be new martian metorites they want to find so bad... okay, there was my 3 pennies worth

the specticle has overwhelmed the wrestling.Ultra wrote:

I saw the "ring" one, he and some counter lady (and three camera men) were the only ones around a mall jewelry store, and he gets a two karat ring, places it on top of the glass and has it "transmit" through. Not ONCE did she look at any of the cameras, her reaction was terribly mild as a witness to some extraordinary act. The act is only shown from one camera (twice), even though three are watching the event. The few extra people (who don't turn to look at the lady's exclimation) around the store have their faces shown. Anybody close enough to distinctly make out their faces were in on it or really gullible.
The one episode I just got has him getting hit with three million volts wearing a suit of metal. That's a pure stunt, I can do that with the proper equipment. I wouldn't crap out and fall over when hit with the max, either. Agh, My finger, that outlet is lethal, waaaahhh!
---
Telekenisis is a real thing, and few are capable of doing anything noticable.
This guy: All sensationalization and fakery to enterprize on imagination. Wires, camera angles, sleight of hand and lots of money. The "cane around the body" is one of the oldest sleights ever, illusionary movements that make it seem he's moving it all around, while actually evading the area of the wires.
As for the moon, I'll just say that all those Mars landing pictures are actually my backyard!
Actually, the moon landing of Apollo 11 is absolutely real.

These topics are awesome, going off to a new barely related thing after the previous one is more or less done with.

The "How do you know? You weren't there" sidestep is one of the most bullshit questions asked when somebody wants to attack a well documented item when they can't give real evidence to debunk it.
One of the most common of questions asked is "why are there no stars in the sky?"
Answer: you get a camera, go outside, and take a photo of the stars during the day.
Just because the sky is black (no oxygen refracting light) on the moon doesn't mean you can see stars all the time.
The astronauts had to get back inside their capsule two-thirds of the day, since it would have been plus two hundred or minus two hundred fahrenheit at any time other than dawn or dusk.
Another big question is "how is the flag 'flapping in the wind' when there is no wind?"
Answer: The top of the flag had a crossbar in it, inside the hemming, so it stayed up instead of slooping down the pole.
Why do you think in all of the pictures with the flag in it, the very top of it was always straight?
