Just wondering what everyone thought of the game ? Also if you think you will buy it on release.

Although I wish it were easier to solo, I definetly like this game and I will be picking it up.

Unless they don't offer time cards. Then I'm screwed.

I found it particularly easy to go alone in some same level+long quests as a Bard when I took it slow.

As long as I didn't have to fight more than three enemies at once, I could really use the environment, my bow and 'leet double jumping skills to evade the combatants and snipe the mages/rangers. I put some points into Hide/Move Silently, and anything aside from slimes or bosses I could sneak right on by. When things got heavy, I led the enemy into a group and put them all out with an area Sleep or two.

While the game doesn't have the choice-possible depth of the paper version to be averse from combat (rolling to drag a sleeping kobold over to a water reservoir and drowning him), the free movement with jumping, dodging and climbing will help low level guys take on high level enemies and makes it more than just a simple hack&slash. 'Twas fun rolling out of the way of Magic Missile.

I'd bet a Stealth-oriented Rogue with Dexterity maxed out and enough points into "Use Magic Device" to use Sleep scrolls/wands would be awesome for anything outside of those straight out fighting quests.

Back to NWN and Morrowind until... NWN2 and Oblivion.
Bard for winning.

Don't count on Turbine selling timecards, it may be possible, especially since they're also doing Lord of the Rings Online, timecards would be a very good idea for these two supergeek series tie-ins. Though I believe the timecard thing was only done so far by Sony with Planetside/SWG/EQ and such.

Definitely buying it. No doubt about it here. Got to see some of the later level stuff and some of it is just insane. Gonna be a challenging game for sure.

I'm an old timer D&D guy. Work got in way of playing stress test fully but from what I did, found it quite fun for co-operative play. I will pick it up. I haven't played many MMO but since this has the D&D backbone, I plan to play.

The peak level is currently at 10. Once they add more classes, refine stuff and move to Epic levels, it'll get knocked to 20.

I may get it, at Dnasty1's house right now we been talking about getting WOW expansion pack when it comes out too. There is really nothing on the horizon right now that looks good so one of these two will probably be in mu future.

My roommate and myself have pre-ordered it and will play as well looking forward to NWN2 release as that fully graphically updated game looks pretty sweet as well. Dungeons & Dragons. Cannot get more classic fantasy game than the granddaddy of them all.

Although I had fun playing, I don't feel it's even on the same map as WoW. I admit I'm a WoW fanboy, but with the latest 1.9 patch the game is more solid than ever. By the time DDO hits, WoW will have its first expansion which will be absolutely killer.

DDO does have some positive points, and I'll be interested to see who ends up playing and if there's interest as a division.

Meh...I could never go back to WoW after experiencing some of the cool things in DDO, like floors collapsing to reveal a deeper part of the dungeon, things like that. :)
