Has anyone downloaded this yet? I saw it on Fileplanet and decided to try it out (still downloading). It looks pretty cool, 3 races trying to fight for supremecy. Unfortunatly, it was made by NCSoft, the same guys who made the Lineage games. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that RF isn't a big grind-fest.
The beta is available through Fileplanet.

RE: RF Online Beta
Published or Developed by NCSoft?
I haven't tried it myself, but a friend did and said it was disappointing.

RE: RF Online Beta
I had about 20 minutes worth of game time until the server crash. Verdict? So far, an exact copy of Lineage 2. Graphics are better, I like how the combat is stylish, but so far, it seems like a futuristic Lineage clone.
I'm bored, so I'll play as much of it as possible *shrug*.

RE: RF Online Beta
Sorry, RF is made by CodeMaster. But after playing it for a few hours, you'd think NCSoft developped it. From what I was told, you basically grind until you get high enough to PVP.

I agree with Undead. I downloaded Saturday & played it for a about an hour it is an exact carbon copy of lineage 2!!!

NC Soft doesn't develop anything. They are publishing only.
RF Online is a "same old play, different hook" Korean MMO.
In common with many KMMO games, many crashes and bugs with the English Localization, lots of down-time, no support, and freeloaders, lots of freeloaders just squatting and wasting server space.
Unlike many KMMO games, this one is hailed as pretty damn good... at least in its country of origin. Still, the game goes to grinding, literally, the premise is a PvP-centric fight between the three races at once, and the winning army of each day's battle will gain access to the ore sources they fight over to grind in the mines for materials. Or something like that. The game appears to have a lot of diversity, but in the end everything does the same thing a bit differently.

For those who thought WoW quests were repetative, trying playing RF for a couple hours. Every quest I've had (at lvl 11 now) save 1 have been "kill 20 of this". That's it. And talk about guessing half the time, a lot of your character's stats aren't explained, you can't see a mob's level (although apparently if they have a blue circle besides their name, they're tough!), and you have to use vague directions to find quest mobs (I literally spend almost an hour looking for these damn Snatcher Cheats lol).

Oye that sounds bad, on a positive note EVE just broke the 100K subscriber barrier and thier new hardware (coming in this month) will support up to 50k players on 1 server at a time, and up to 250k total subscribers.
