Call of Duty : World at War

Post by XoR »

Was checking out some game play footage of this game and it looks pretty wicked.

Anyone thinking of picking this up for some PHX action?

Just look at how long cod and cod 2 have lasted. Ppl want to relive events from the past. Alot of what happens in war now isnt as broadcasted or reported on unless somebody messed up. To be a part of pearl harbour or battle of normandy appeals to us. I look forward to this game. Its going to kill cod 4.

Only for singleplayer and co-op.

World At War is just Treyarch copy-pasting COD3 onto COD4, using COD4's perks and Hardpoints.

I'll probably skip it...I personally don't need to play another ww2 game of any kind.

as much as i love the built in wallhack of cod4 (uav).. i wouldnt miss it and hopefully they dont have anything like that.... i also hope they get rid of shooting through walls people with LMG's spamming every bullet through walls in hopes of kills gets kinda old... sorta like the noob tubers

would be nice to see them add more than just a few spawn points in the maps so that airstrikes (if they're in) arent so easy to get 15 kills with

Beta is already active.

Airstrikes replaced by artillery. Instead of a straight line of explosions, a big circle of explosions.
Helicopters replaced by DOGS.
LMGs rivaled by flamethrowers. Still LMGs.
Special grenades replaced by molotovs, gas and flares.
Claymores replaced by mines.
C4 and grenade launchers replaced by Satchels and Grenade launchers.

Water-swimming (as opposed to other kinds of swimming).

Vehicle Perks for speed, overheating, reloading, repairing...
Jeeps, light tanks, big tanks, flame tanks.

Katana.

USA has a bolt action rifle without a scope... also twice the weapon lineup of all the other armies.

hopefully the leveling system gets changed up a bit... so like after 55.. you can advance, but if you suck.. it goes back down to 55

i know its only beta.. but how's the graphics? is it alot like cod4... or more demanding on the computer.. i usually get like 60-100 fps in cod4... should i be looking at another card to play it?

edit: looks exactly like cod4 lol... should be able to run it without too many problems... hopefully we can field enough people to compete in it for a few weeks?

Rank design is exactly the same as in COD4. Rank up after a couple rounds, time to thoroughly test out the new weapon/perk you get every other rank before you get to the next one to try out whatever is next.

The beta limits rank to 24. It goes up to 60 something or whatever.

Tanks, Heavy tanks and jeeps, same as in United Offensive, as well as some unique tanks... such as a flamethrower tank.
