FPS poll for our next contest
FPS poll for our next contest
I need to build the rules around a specific game so we must vote for the game you want to play. The list I have made was compiled from the most popular games played and/or purchased over the last few years. If there is a game that is not on the poll but you feel is popular enough to be included please post a comment.

Re: FPS poll for our next contest
You forgot SOF2 heh.
"With each kill, i grow wiser, and with added wisdom, i grow stronger".
Re: FPS poll for our next contest
Think your forgetting COD:UO as well
Re: FPS poll for our next contest
We have to be careful about using older games. They may not work well with new computers or OS. Im on the fence about cod2. The only reason why I listed it was because there was alot of us playing it.

Re: FPS poll for our next contest
But I already have screenshots from those "older" games
Re: FPS poll for our next contest
This won't be screenshots. If you recall my recruit challenges back in the day, it will be like that. For a month we will be playing these challenges. Points are awarded for best killcam of the night, best kill/death ratio of the night, most kills, etc. We will be playing select weapons every round as well as mixing up the game types. This way we target everyone who plays not just the run and gun guys. I will be using my infiltration game type and we will try something new to stir up points. The person who is currently in first place can be challenged for knife fights. A loss would mean exchanging your point position with the challenger. A win would give you additional points and keep you safe from challenges for the rest of the evening. I will hammer out all the game types and a point system. Right now the top prize is a copy of mw3 or bf3 gifted through steam. More prizes may be awarded depending on the number of contestants.

Zomg I totally want in on this. That sounds awesome.
Please please please don't make it any night in August.

Re: FPS poll for our next contest
This poll ends on the 26th which gives me a few days to get the rules posted and have a server. Also gives me time to get ppl signed up for it. The plan was to do it for all of August. Why can't you play in August?

Re: FPS poll for our next contest
August is just very busy for me. I'll try my best to still make it though.
Re: FPS poll for our next contest
Very neat, nice lead-in before September Bf3 beta, October BF3, November MW3.
Re: FPS poll for our next contest
Just had a thought. Could put TF2 on the list... since its free. That way everyone could effectively play.
Re: FPS poll for our next contest
The problem with TF2 is that there are alot of ppl who dislike it. Even when it went free only a small handful of the regulars installed it. I want the players to look forward to each challenge night because they enjoyed playing that particular game.

Re: FPS poll for our next contest
Im going to post some of the things happening during the challenge nights. The final rules will be posted on the front page in a week.
The first few rounds consist of free4all matches with certain limits, i.e. shotty, hanguns, tubes....etc. This will determine how the teams will be made plus it gives you an opportunity to put some distance between you and other players on the scoring ladder. Your final score each round is recorded and your ratio as well. Best ratio through the free4all rounds gets bonus points.
After the free4all rounds there will be a short break where I add up the scores and make the teams for the second round. The second round consists of team based gametypes. Sabotage, SnD, Domintation and Headquarters. The winning team splits a 1000 point pot. I will determine best killcam at the end of this round and that person gets bonus points.
After the team based rounds we take another break so I can update your scores and set up the final round. This round consists of a gametype I designed called Infiltration. The difference being some players will have handicaps depending on their score. The Infiltration rules will be posted and we will run a few practice rounds a few days in advance to let you try it out.
That concludes our regular rounds. There is a bonus round where players from the bottom of the points list can request a knife fight with the current leader. If the leader is challenged he/she CANNOT object. However, if the leader defends the position they are safe from challenges that evening. A loss will cost you a swap of your position with the challenger. A win secures you with additional points which we will determine later. If you defeat the person in the top spot you can be challenged by another player to a knife fight. If you lost your position you cannot challenge to fight until the next evening.
These rules are subject to change. As I said at the beginning of this post, the final rules will be posted on the front page.
